All sailors have a story to tell, good sailors have stories being told about them, great sailors share stories for others to learn, unpolished, rough at times and authentic. Thank you Thomas!

Attention to details is paramount. I'm glad your agent was able to help you out. Not casting shade, but you look really tired and in desperate need of rest. I hope you get good sleep. Thanks for sharing.

I had a similar problem, I went to a country and the immigration missed to stamp me out when I left . A few weeks later I came back and during entry they accused me I had my visa overstayed. ( Even I was technically entering the country) Took quite some talking and back and forth until we had an agreement about the error . Since then I am anal about immigration stamping my passport :-)

Together with 'Alluring Artic Sailing' one of the most enjoyable and no BS sailing channels on the whole of YT. It must have something to do with the no nonsense personality of these Northern European sailors. ;;)

Man, and I was just going to ask you what you learned most from the stormy leg rendering in shredded sails - and then comes this! If you’re not into book writing, maybe some summarising vid’s about your Pacific journey? Here’s lot to consider and learn for the rest of us 🙏🏼

No time for book writing at the moment but who knows. I could kept this to myself but I hope by sharing some would find it valuable. Thank you so much for watching my friend 🙏🏻 All the best and fair winds

Sailing around the world also seems to be a special form of therapy. For my part, I would be completely mad about the bureaucratic “mistakes” at the moment. I would probably have to learn that on the way...THX!!

Thomas, consider getting away from an Apple Mac and going to a PC, where parts are easily available and reasonable in price. Also, thanks for the heads-up, showing the difference between how many person(s) onboard vs how many passengers where you as the captain are not counted. I'm not sure if every place uses that identifier of how many people aboard or not, though.
@realulli6 ай бұрын
The PC stuff is usually worse, in my experience. With a Mac, you have Time Machine, just grab a few external HDs/SSDs and make multiple backups. If your main system fails, find a replacement, tell it to recover from the Time Machine backup and just let it do its thing. A while later, you're good to go again. Yes, Mac parts are somewhat harder to come by, but they tend to last longer. PC parts? Yup, easy to come by. But are they compatible with your machine? Do you have the right drivers? Etc... with Mac, you just plonk the replacement in, done. Macs are made for people who don't have the time to fiddle with all the PC stuff.

I think if they insisted putting one in the "passenger" spot, I would insist they write and sign a not saying "only the captain is on board" somewhere and initial that note ?

@davecopp93566 ай бұрын
So strange that the sailing organisations, yacht brokers, yacht producers do not come together to demand a wordwide smooth process for clearing in and out of countries to make it easier for sailors. It has become and expensive and time consuming process which costs a lot of nerves if you sail around the world.
@bashulsbergen49036 ай бұрын
In many developing countries there are tons of people are benefiting from this confusing process. Agents, customs staff, etc. etc. They all manage to get a salary out of this, not to mention bribes. Making things inconsistent and confusing is often done by design, and fixing it will lead to a lot of opposition.
@davecopp93566 ай бұрын
@@bashulsbergen4903 I agree. But still, it seems no one wants to take on the task to push for a smooth process. Sailors complain, but nothing changes. Voting for a smaller government could be a start.
