I'm with you, Chris - I need my inks to be more saturated/darker. I do like subtle colors vs. neon or very bright and electric though. This is one of my favorite color families, every since fourth grade and Sheaffer's Peacock Blue! BTW, the paper in the new Ink Swatch Plot Log is the HP Premium 32 lb. He just calls it 120 gsm but both numbers are on the package label for the ream of paper. Great review and the slightly abbreviated version for 30 Inks 30 Days works fine. Thank you!

Hi Donna - I am glad to hear the edited version works okay - I want it to be sustainable so that I can get 30 videos accomplished - one for each ink - even if the upload is delayed somehow - at least each ink can be represented - so I had to get a bit ruthless with the cutting! But after this challenge I'll re-think it and spend more time on each profile! :) Thank you for clarifying about the HP Premium 32 # paper - I thought that might be the case but I don't have the ream info handy! :)

OH BOY THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE inks so far i love the bright blue inks although i think tomorrows ink will be better for looking at but i can imagine the possibilities for this one in art type things making the sky and clouds and oh boy thats exciting :)

A great start to #30inks30days 👍. I do like this colour of ink 😍. Blue inks are one of my favourite colours and I prefer the lighter and mid tones of blue over the really dark blue inks, so I'm going to probably love tomorrow's ink. Heard on tonight's news about the latest shooting incident. Sending thoughts and prayers to you all in Texas 💜

Hi Sherry - the leather cover is by Standard Knight: standardknight.com/product/the-wanderer-brown-field-notes-and-passport-cover/ sometimes you can find them on Amazon too. It easily holds 2 pocket size notebooks with plenty of room the pen loop is not very large though. I did a little review on the cover some time back.

this isn't about today's ink. I bought a CVS notebook and loose leaf paper, your recommendation was right on the money. The shading and sheen I'm seeing on this paper is unbelievable. your videos are very valuable to me; keep up the good work!

Hi John - a viewer clued me in some time ago about the CVS Caliber paper and it has been such good paper for me in notebooks, writing tablets ... you name it that I always keep talking about it! It's really quite amazing ... I hope they never realize it performs as well as expensive paper ... they might raise the price!

Hi Matthew - yes and this is one of those cases for me where the 2 ml sample is enough and I can clean it out ... most of the colors I go write letters with it so I use a lot more ink even during testing!!!! Are you able to get Sailor inks easily where you are?

@@ChrisSaenz13 Some of the sailor Jentle series and at present i have a source for Sailor samples and Bung u box for some of their offerings one namely the ink of the witch , this is almost black purple., its very expensive a bottle being like $50 + shipping from Japan but the guy i get the samples from is doing a 2ml sample for 3.50 so i have a few samples of that. It is easier than it was to get sailor inks , Kobe ink are still quite difficult to get , again my guy with the samples can get a lot of the kobe colours .

I like the color much. It resembles me Rohrer und Klingner Blu Mare, which is a tad darker. I realized that I use some colors depending on the season of the year. Such colors are perfect for hot summers!

I’m noticing a theme in the comments and I agree: This is a pretty ink, but I think I’m going to like tomorrow’s ink better. I like that Ink Swatch Plot Log and I’m curious to see how the inks compare in it.

Hi gadgetstop - I thought by testing The Pen Thing Swatch Plot booklet all month we'd all have a pretty good idea how it functions & the paper quality. Gets me out of my tendency to collect it for future use as well! I really like my Inky Fingers Currently inked booklets for remembering what is in my pens but for a good assessment of each ink this seems ideal!

Sailor's Yuki Akari looks a lot like Pilot's Ama Iro, and even just a bit brighter. Difficult colours for every day use. I would like to see how tomorrow's ink, Sailor's Souten compares to Pilot's Kon Peki ;-) Nice work anyway Chris, keep it up and thank for your very useful and interesting reviews of inks ! Hi Chris, this Sailor ink is pretty but too pale for me. I'm going to add the Taccia Sora ink to my list to try this month. Luckily I have a sample of it. I like the look of the Ink Swatch Log. The extra comments about the ink are good to include for future reference. Today's ink for me is Lamy Agate, one of the Crystal inks. This ink looks like I'm writing with a pencil; pretty cool :) Have you tried it? Ginger

Hi Ginger - I have not tried Lamy Agate yet -- that sounds so interesting! Is it gray - must be right? I'm still rather shocked I didn't do a profile on Taccia Sora. :)

I wish that I had more than the 2 ml sample so I could send you some of it. It is a pale grey color. I wrote with a pencil after writing with this ink and couldn't tell the difference. I'll look forward to your review of Sora :)

Hmmmm. I have a couple inks that are light blue that I love. Iroshizuku Ama-iro and Sheaffer Turquoise. Probably too light for you too :)

It's funny though ... I didn't used to like green very much for ink and now I'm the opposite. :) But generally speaking anything this light isn't what I like for writing!

Comment about using as highlighter color is good. It’s a pretty blue, but too light for me too for writing.

Hi Chris, very interesting video. It is hard thing to be objective, especially when you are talking about inks which unfortunately is a subjective topic. The book Brian gave you is wonderful compared to what you were using. This ink and tomorrow's ink are still too light for me (black being my favourite ink colour), but I can see the appeal. You are going to be very busy over September.

Hi Peter - I did this last year too and it is somewhat of a cure for over acquiring ink! Helps me realize how much ink I have in the form of samples! :) In October I have a black ink from J Herbin that Goulet Pens sent me to review! :)

Hi Sue - yes I picked a real light ink for the first day of the challenge ... lol. I guess I was going in the order they were listed on the Ink Flight itinerary. :) Day 2 ink is much better for my letter writing!
