Strange name choises by the creator(s) of this series... Original Artemis was the Greek goddess of young female beauty, hunting and the moon (with Apollo as male counterpart (god of young male beauty and the sun)) - their counterparts in Roman mythology were Diana and Apollon). While Luna was the Roman embodiment/goddess of the moon (Selene was the Greek counterpart). How could this Dinah's parents both have female names? And was Dinah named after Artemis' Roman counterpart Diana?

Honestly I do recommend the series but it is cringey and childish. If you’re looking for a more straightforward and mature series, try the reboot (Sailor Moon Crystal).

I suggest watching the Japanese version of Sailor Moon, with subtitles, if at all possible. They changed so much in the North American version that the plot doesn't make much sense. For example, Michiru and Haruka are in a romantic relationship. That was too much for North American viewers, apparently, so what did they do? They decided to make them cousins... thing is, you can still tell there are romantic feelings between the two of them. Which is not only now actually creepy, it's illegal, lol. They also outright changed the gender of one of the characters because a guy having a crush on another guy was apparently too much for North America to handle. Instead of making it so that they could never be together because the guy being crushed on just didn't like men in that way, they just had the guy being super abusive toward a woman. Cause that's muuuuch better /sarcasm. Anyway, I'm an avid anime watching adult, and Sailor Moon is still, my favourite. Its timeless. Also, Pluto is my favourite too! Go Setsuna!💜💜

They’re all wearing school uniforms except for Setsuna. She’s an adult. Haruka, Michiru, and Hotaru go to one school, Rei attends a private catholic school, and the others go to school together. Makoto’s uniform is different because she’s much taller than a normal student and when she switched schools, they didn’t have one big enough for her. Chibi Usa (Little Usagi) isn’t evil but she can be an epic brat. 😆 Definitely check out the show. It’s amazing. 💖

My friends and I did a cosplay of Steampunk Sailor Moon characters. I was Jupiter, and the rest were Pluto, Saturn, and Mercury. We were in the masquerade, and won for best construction, in the highest division! All of our costumes were period accurate, down to not finishing the hems with a serger. Sailor Moon is on Hulu. Watch it in Japanese with subtitles. You will get the whole story. They changed a lot of the story line for North American viewers and removed episodes as well. Also you can buy the manga (comics) from Amazon which ideas before the anime.

OMG me too. Thank you for saying that cuz I thought I was maybe the only one. I prefer the keychains for sure. I sometimes take a key ring off to use on one with the bag clip cuz I swear the clips are impossible to open and so much bulkier. Paul you’re actually doing a pretty good job with the names. Some of them need a little tweaking, but really not bad. Luckily a lot of Japanese names are pronounced how they look, not all of them, but a good portion. My two favorite girls are Makoto and Minako. Also they have Sailor Moon Crystal on Hulu and they had the original series as well. Crystal is closer to the manga and more to the point. The other cartoon was a lot of fun. Also the kitty is Diana, who is the daughter or Luna and Artemis and belongs to Chibi Usa, who is the other mystery one, future daughter of Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon was my gateway into anime when I was younger. The cat isn't Artemis or luna it's their daughter, Diana. Luna is black and Artemis is white. Michiru (pronounced: me-che-roo) and Haruka are both girls and in a romantic relationship. The 90s anime in America turned them into cousins through the dialogue, but their actions spoke otherwise. There are also some scouts who are boys in human form but transform into girls when fighting. It was just one of those animes that during the time America just couldn't handle the truth sadly. The Japanese version is way better with its accuracy and portraying the characters how they were meant to be.

Hulu, it was on Hulu . . . I'm sad because they stopped doing the free stuff; you use to be able to watch it with ad's without having an account so I never got to finish catching up on some of it . . . . Also Sailor Moon is A+++ Also mind ya'll there's a reboot too (Sailor Moon Crystal) I believe both should be on hulu. Also name pronunciations A+ try. I've since sadly forgotten how to pronounce some of them without looking but I don't think it's a terrible attempt for not having seen the show. Also surprised they're using the Japanese names in products instead of trying to shove the westernized names down our throats. I'm surprised there's not a Mamoru in this set unless he's an exclusive for a store. Also I don't know if ya'll called Haruka Tenoh a guy or not. . . . but Sailor Uranus is a chick. Couple of fun random tips Shannon, Paul: the westernized version for America made her a cousin to Michiru Kaioh / Neptune. In attempts to hide the fact the pair were dating . . . America cut a lot of story lines in this show because they didn't want weird shenanigans which sadly enough included never showing the StarS episodes rumored that they wouldn't air because of the fact the Starlights transformed from Men into Women. So if you watch the original 90's dubs you maybe surprised to find that there's some weird choices made with the voice overs and the action in the show. I believe the redub for the show was more accurate. Also, Gray kitty with pink eyes is Diana, White with blue eyes is Artemis and Purple/Black with brown eyes is Luna. There's been a few 'official' plush toys though that are terrible at defining if it's Luna or Diana because they screw up the colors. Diana's been just about every color from Violet to Lavender and Gray while Luna's either a dark purple or black depending on the plush and occasionally varies with blue eyes as well which is more of the live action thing Japan did. -- There's some weird things that happen.
