Hey All! I hope you enjoyed this weeks video on this VERY special location 💙After I published, a member of the family reached out to let me know that I had a typo in the family name at 6:19. It should be Johnston, not Johnson. Huge thank you to them for pointing this out, and our appologies for the error! We are working to see how we can correct it 🙌

My first trip to the Bahamas was to the Abaco’s in 1973 when I was 17 in our family’s 32 ‘ sailboat. It was fantastic, we were the only ones there. I remember getting hot homemade bread in Marsh Harbor that we ate before we even got to the dingy so we had to turn around and go get more. Will be there next year in our Grand Banks 42.

I wish I could have seen it at that time, or even any time before Hurrican Dorian. But I am greatful for the chance to explore now, and that they still make and sell homemade coconut bread!

Enjoying the channel. Tip to make getting back in the dinghy easier. Swim around to back of the boat and use the cavitation plate on the motor as a step. Obviously not when motor is running. And don't kick the prop! If you ever put a planning fin on the motor it's even easier.

You are so welcome! We love making them, and when you get your own boat: I highly reccomend you find a way to document the journey! Videos and Photots are great. But find a way to journal or blog about it too. You can forget so much that happens out here. Its extra work at the time, but its worth it to look back and have a record of your adventures!

You are so right, I grew up boating and fishing and I learn that 90% of the fish are within 10% of the ocean, lakes and rivers. Just like humans, they congregate in the mayor cities and towns and will find few scatter around.

Thanks! They are called Tropicfeel! They are made from recycled materials and are really wonderful water/hiking shoes. They are surprisingly comfortable and dry really quickly. A bit more pricy than I would like, but we got them as Christmas gifts 🙌. shop.tropicfeel.com/collections/allterrainsneakers (not affiliate/sponsored)

Great video, especially the informed narrative, respectfully suggesting wearing a weight belt will make free-diving easier, providing negative flotation, enabling you to work less.

It's JOHNSTON, not Johnson, in Little Harbor. As a Johnston, I know.
@FolsomOceanViews2 жыл бұрын
Thanks - we debated the pronunciation and found resources stating it both ways. Win some/loose some 😅
@mikedonnanancy54362 жыл бұрын
@@FolsomOceanViews i think you pronounced it ok, it was the quote at the beginning it was misspelled.....no biggie! didn't know if you wanted to correct or was even able to at this point. NOBODY will notice except us Johnston's that know Little Harbor and Pete.

@@mikedonnanancy5436 OH NO!! I will see if I can fix it. KZbin doesnt let you edit/re-upload a video once it's out there. But there might be something creative out there that I can do. Ironically, I am going to have to watch some YT tutorials to figure it out 😂 I will make sure to Pin a comment on the video it's self noteing my mistake. Thank you so much for letting me know!

Great video, but I'd rather hear the surf than that "music".
@FolsomOceanViews2 жыл бұрын
I love the sound of the surf too! This is sorta a no-win topic for us. If we eliminate music, people ask for it, if we use it people dont always like it. I just go with my gut and pick a song that really convays the feelings I was having at the time. Thanks so much for tuning in!!
