I felt the smooth sailing within this beautiful sweet melody. Loved it! Thanks for sharing☺️

It's been more than a year since I've been following your channel, and it amazes me how the quality of your compositions only improves more and more with each new video :)

Thank you so much! It's hard to see your own progress but I hope you're right! And it's already been 1 year, waw!

Welcome back! Missed seeing «Alto» in this one, French instrument names and all.

Yes I made the violas dirty by using only violins, cellos and basses for the strings😅 The instruments are still in French tho

@@Marshoyenis there a particular reason the instruments are in French?

@@Marshoyen le Violon 2 peut-etre joué par l'alto. D'ailleurs il aurait mérité d'être appelé violon 3 en inversant le 2 et 3 ;)

I'm shocked you haven't decided to compose a symphony yet! I admire your writing and the way you manipulate these instruments.

Thank you! Yeah but a symphony lasts at least 10 minutes and I don't know much about how a symphony works or how it's made...

@@Marshoyen I haven't read it yet, but I saw Ryan Leach talk about some stuff he'd learnt from it. You're looking for Analyzing Classical Form: An Approach for the Classroom by William Caplin, it's apparently an theoretical analysis of the music of Mozart and Beethoven... Remember, a symphony is a four movement sonata, but for orchestra instead of solo piano, so if you can compose a piano sonata, your should be able to compose a symphony... I've just got into composition about six months ago, so I haven't really composed anything worth sharing yet.

@@daviydviljoen9318 Ooh I see, thanks for the suggestion. I don't know how to do a piano sonata either. I've never tried because I prefer to compose more in a "video game" style. I don't know if you see what I mean

I really like how you use the sounds of the instrument to create the ‘ocean feel’ as I would call it. Do you have a platform to chat on, I’d love to hear more about your compositions, especially since I compose too.

Thanks! Well I don't really have a platform to chat as "marshoyen". Since you're not the first to ask, I'll find out if I can create one.

do you do anything special for mixing and mastering? I am really bad at it and i was wondering how the hell everything sounds this good

No I've never taken a composition or mixing course. To be honest I don't really like the 'mixing and mastering' part so I barely tried to deal with this😅
