THANK YOUU I really wanted to focus on that and his family - Him wearing Isidor's udey is in reference to Oyun saying he should wear it around his neck if he's truly the next of the Burakhs in p1! There's also Ersher, his mother, Oyun, Albinos and Nara here and there too hehe

This encapsulates Artemy’s arc so well and how he would act after the events of Pathologic/2. While his life is good and happy theres still lingering guilt. The red of guilt. The blue of innocence. How he grabs to Boddho who is dead/dying. How he grabs Isidor who is dead/dying. They are both walking/facing away from Artemy. How he is always reaching for them. His good heart is stabbed. Boddho is dead, many have died, especially his father who he never saw and got closure. Despite the pain of what happened he has a new family, a life to look forward to that he and the others built and love together. In the end they are all puppets, but even a doll can be happy.

watching this again and again i notice something new every time godddd I love just how many parts of artemy's life you tie together to portray the full extent of his guilt- the scene where he's injured and bloody reaching for the bull, the polyhedron spike shooting out and piercing his own heart- AGH... It makes me think and feel so so many things- An incredible reflection of his guilt surrounding the events of the game and his complicated relationship with Isidor (and perhaps the kin too). The way the bull stands in as both Boddho or the one it seems Isidor made him kill when he was younger i think emphasizes just how huge of an impact that had on him as a child- Also the way the spike drives through his heart similarly to how Isidor died, killed by one he trusted. This works just fantastically for me considering one of the biggest driving forces in Artemy's story is taking on his father's burden, filling his shoes- JUST AUGH. The scene also serves to put Artemy in Boddho's place,, like he too bled out and died when the polyhedron fell by the end Isidor and his memory (quite literally) haunts Artemy all through his playthough, its such an important part of his story and you've done it tremendous justice... i wish i was better at this godforsaken tongue to properly articulate my thoughts

@@duugai-hill WAAAA the surgery/autopsy makes a lot of sense actually i dunno why I forgot that isidor might actually have him practice on people instead of bulls- I guess i was wrapped up in the bull sacrifice part of menku tradition and my brain connected the bull in the beginning to the scared little artemy that appears in the end

duugai. duugai. are you trying to KILL ME duugai. what the FUCKKKKKKKKKK.. this song is so good. the instrumental leading to the climax of wormisidor.... gave me CHILLS!!!! like my eyes watered???? the slow realization of none of it being real and instead being an actor on the stage threw me, then the link directly back to the introduction with the mask, like its restarting from the beginning, replaying his life till they find their next focus

Ok, before I praise the video itself I will admit that I didn't use to like this version of the song compared to the original, mostly because it felt too chaotic compared to the almost march-like rythm of the first version. But thanks to your animatic I now understand why Saint Bernard 2 is a direct and logical extension of the original track. The first version is rather monotone, emphasizing how the singer's religious upbringing feels stifling and restricting. It has this almost teenage angst feeling to it. Of someone who is trapped inside of their own head. Saint Bernard 2 is told from the perspective of someone more experienced and able to re-evalute their life, even as they sing almost the exact same lyrics. They are able to look at it in a less angry manner, perhaps even finding some hope for themself in it. The whole instrumental part before the last chorus feels almost triumphant before it all comes crashing down and the old doubts come back once again. I think it perfectly captures Artemy's emotional journey at the end of Patho 2, especially in the context of Diurnal Ending. He chose to save his childhood friends, new connections he formed in the Town and the path (heh) he carved out for himself. In many ways it feels like the right thing to do. Essentially choosing his own destiny instead of his legacy. I love the part during the instrumental where al the characters spend time together and have a good time, while Artemy keeps turning back. Because this isn't a happy ending. He abandoned his culture, his people, and chose the very manifestation of what led them to their demise in the first place. He gave up on his responsibility and selfishly chose what was more familiar and comfortable to him. He IS the spoiled little kid about to leave catholic school. Anyway, wonderful animatic, beautiful symbolism and use of colors and the music choice made me write a whole-ass essay about it heh. Thank you
