I love your introduction so much! very informative and let me know what I wanted to know. I like that comparison and the reasons are very convincing, no too much ado, and those try-ons are very helpful. I have the college medium black with gold hardware (rustic gold i believe) and honestly I think it is very durable, I am not sure why people think it scratches easily. The leather is textured and I do have a tendency to scratch things as my nails are always chipped but it has never shown on the bag. I absolutely adore it and I liked it over the envelope as it was more casual and I don’t dress up too often. However, I can’t get over this envelope bag and plan to go back and buy it in a couple of months Ali in the black with silver hardware as everything else I have is gold. I don’t mean any disrespect to anyone in sayin this but I find this ysl envelope bag a lot more glamorous and beautiful than the equivalent Chanel and possible even better quality. Such a shame so many are obsessed with just the name and can appreciate anything else.

This is super helpful. I don’t have a Saint Laurent store near me so thank you for explaining the durability on this bag. I was also debating whether I would like gold or silver hardware. The silver looks absolutely gorgeous. I also am not sure whether I would like to have a Palm Springs Mini backpack more or this bag. I would get the smaller size though since all I need to carry is mainly my phone and wallet. Would love a follow up on the wear and tear on this bag.

I think this bag is striking in silver hardware, I love the sleek contrast with black (I find the gold hardware to be a bit much / tacky, especially when worn over the shoulder). However, most of my earrings and necklaces are gold. Do you always wear your bag with silver jewelry or do you mix with gold?
