The balance of theatrical production values and practicality were met in this show. YSLs clothing is beautiful as always as well as wearable which is a reflection of the show as a whole, although I do wish they would have had a little more flare on some of the ensembles. The texture of the clothing does well to add dimension contrasting the minimalistic well lit runway and intense music.

lil angel i live in Paris so as every other fashion aficiónate I go to the shows just to stand outside and see the people who goes there, which is very inspiring... when we got to this one it was in an open space in Trocadéro, anybody could see it. It was crazy beautiful , the show started just at night fall when the tower turned on, and for the encore, the tower started sparkling, as it only does every hour... crazy beautiful.

You definitely don't know what you are saying lol What Hedi did with YSL was beyond remarkable, least to say that he doubled the brand's revenues, reemerging it like never before! He did so many iconic things to the brand such as closing a gap between clothes and gender lines, and let's not even talk about the Menswear mannnn. I think I can't even find the right words to describe slimane's direction; from casting, reinvention, shows, ads, and much more, it was one of the best years for fashion! Overall, don't get me wrong; Vaccarello is doing amazing in so many ways and I would say it is one of my favorite creative directions at the moment in the industry, but to say "slimane is gone" wether you don't know shit about what you are talking about or you are just out of your mind lol

Can't really agree on most of the shoe choices and there's not much revolutionary about the show but i don't think it has to be either. I think it is a very cute and beautiful show. It is great that they give us this much diffrent designs to analyse and use to suggest the future of fashion while still staying true to the brand.

The collection itself looks more impressive because of the phenomenal staging. Nothing new but then again there is nothing to invent in fashion anymore except probably new fabric technologies. It reminds me a lot of what Giambattista Valli did for Emanuel Ungaro in the early 2000’s. If your very young and don’t have a memory of that go check it out. But of course many of the pieces are reminiscent of Monsieur Saint Laurent’s creations which is normal and which is also why it looked fab. It also reminds me a little of past Roberto Cavalli shows somehow , who anyway copied Saint Laurent’s animal prints and tuxedos amongst other things.The puffy evening dresses are fun but limited to the fashion show and not in a real life situation. They look as if they had chopped off part of an original Saint Laurent evening gown and had just left the bottom balloon part stuck to the under bust part. Some give the impression that the girl was lifting her skirt up like a Can Can dancer to show her sequined under pants with the Eiffel Tower highlighting her vagina. How that is considered high fashion is beyond me. Many of those models did not know how to carry those boots and just looked like little girls trying on their mother’s shoes that are five sizes too big. I do agree that It’s a fabulous show with good styling and some really nice pieces, but I don’t think that it’s all that amazing like some critiques I’ve read, in the sense that it’s a collection we’ve seen before under many labels. If it wasn’t Saint Laurent and shown in such a way it would have been trashed by the fashion critics, of that I’m sure. Usually when most labels are trying too hard and just end up making women look hideous these type of collections look fantastic because they have more of a flair of what fashion was once about. We owe that to the legacy of those designers gone by precisely like Monsieur Yves Saint Laurent. 💖💖💖

You'll find that often the tracks for runways are custom made or remixes. Carolina Herrera had a song written for her collection and she designed the collection after the piece was finished. You can imagine how well the clothing went together with the show.

Vaccarello has gotten better in his designs for spring 2018, I think. He seemed to have referenced Monsieur Yve's past styles, but I also noticed in the men's that there's some lingering influence of Hedi Slimane, not that it's bad. Nevertheless I think the collection is more sophisticated and put together well than his last two collections.
