I haven’t been in St. Paul for 30 years. It looks so much nicer now. I worked on Robert and used to lunch in the skyway. I mostly remember inebriated guys wanting to tell me about Jesus or whatever the topic was for that day.

Great tour, and Happy Thanksgiving 2024. I lived in St. Paul from age two through seven (88' - 94') and still remember it like the back of my hand. I moved to Southern Cali (Ridgecrest, CA) until I graduated high school. It's funny that I went from extreme cold weather straight to one of the hottest places on earth. I remember living right near the area of the brewery. We lived by some train tracks in a two story duplex that was painted green. It was located on a pretty empty off street next to the train tracks. This video brings up so many memories. I went to Central Lutheran School with my brothers. I heard they closed it due to funding issues stemming from the 2008 crash; and never fully recovered. I think the high rise apartment building near Irving park is where my grandmother lived. If I'm correct, it's a building for senior living. We used to get binoculars and check out the state capitol from her high floor apartment she had. Life goes by fast.

I stay a block from Mears Park and I can say it's a fun area to live. Summertime here is awesome, I enjoy the couple block walk to the farmers market on weekends to get some fresh produce. There is as an old charm to downtown St.Paul

I am undecided which city to relocate to: St. Paul or Minneapolis?

Minneapolis has the sports venues, the theatres, the lakes, and the clubs (to the extent that downtown bars are even remaining open nowadays.) St. Paul is the sleepier of the two towns. Downtown is usually dead by 7PM unless there is a hockey game or concert at the Xcel Energy Center. Minneapolis has the great neighborhoods by the lakes and in Northeast Minneapolis. St. Paul has the great neighborhoods near the colleges and the river: Macalester - Groveland, Highland Park, and Crocus Hill. An interesting new option the Highland Bridge mixed-used development at the site of the old Ford Plant. New condos, apartments, and townhomes, all within walking distance to the Ford Parkway/Cleveland Avenue retail area and Hidden Falls Regional Park. Also - it's close to the airport and just across the river from Minneapolis.

Please tell me why does it look so dead every time I watch any videos on twin cities. Where is everybody at? Or is that just normal and it’s because I’m use to over populated Cali life? I was thinking about visiting there and taking my family to mall of America.

I'm originally from Orange, CA and have been living in Mac Groveland for around 6 years now. Life moves at a much slower pace here than in SoCal, but there are always people out and about in these neighborhoods. COVID turned the area into a ghost town for a while, which is a bit of what you're seeing in this tour, but life has pretty much gotten back to normal here. Life is so much easier here than in CA. I'm glad I made the move.
