Et je ne raisonne jamais : comme un inconditionnel d' un compositeur mais d' abord la qualité !!! Exemple typique pour étayer mon propos. Combien Mozart à écrit de concerto pour piano ?? 27 ... Combien sont des chefs d'œuvre ???????? Rachmaninov Combien 1 , 2 !!! Schuman?? 1 Grieg , 1 Beethoven 1 Tchaïkowski 1 ... Saint Saens 1/2 Etc etc

@@philippegerboin6266 Quand vous dites "le plus beau", vous faites implicitement référence au nombre connu car dire "le plus beau" et qu'on en connait 2, ce n'est pas la même chose que d'en connaître 50 ! Le second concerto de Saint-Saëns est très beau, je suis d'accord. Les n°s 4 et 5 sont très beaux aussi ... Tchaïkovski a écrit 3 concertos pour piano (et le 2 est aussi intéressant que le 1), Beethoven a écrit 5 concertos pour piano tous magnifiques, Rachmaninov 4 concertos + une Rhapsodie pour piano et orchestre, Schumann en effet 1 concerto + Les 2 œuvres concertantes op. 92 et 134 magnifiques ! etc. Connaissez-vous le concerto n°2 de Hummel ? (très difficile !) et les concertos de Chopin, les concertos de Brahms ? ...

I know where you're coming from, it's definitely fresh. But I think it's anything but honest. He's completely ignored and invented a lot of markings to the point that it stops resembling Saint Saens in a lot of places, don't you think?

I don't think it has anything to do with the place I come from, I was exhilarated by his performance and either I disagreed in a couple of moments, meaning that I would do differently, he convinced me 100%.

But surely he doesn't have free reign as the performer to do absolutely anything he likes with it, given that he's performing Saint Saens piano concerto, not Fazil Say piano concerto? In this regard I don't think the performance was honest.

Absolument fantastique.. J ai écumé les versions sur KZbin, de cette oeuvre non moins fantastique, et je pensais, avec des versions comme celles de Richter ou de Chamayou, avoir entendu les plus magnifiques. Mais je n avais pas encore entendu celle ci. Je suis tout simplement abasourdi par cette interprétation, tant par le pianiste, que par le chef et l orchestre, et naturellement, l oeuvre en elle même, juste universelle, surnaturelle.

However, in my opinion he does not capture the essential character of each passage as well as Fazil Say does. Fazil Say seems to throughly understand each and every passage and, although unconventional, his playing captures the essence of Saint-Saëns better than Hamelin’s playing does

Apart from some smearing of the dotted rhythms in the finale of the St Saens, a fantastic performance Bravo . . . both for the St Saens and his own Black Earth! Black Earth is a heartfelt piece whose charms I couldn't help but recently acquired into my repertoire.

Black Earth is originally a folk song from Asik Veysel who has lost his eyes at 7 years old and is playing a folk instrument "Baglama". Fazıl arranged and improved it. Both are delightful.

I came to know this concerto only recently (saw a short scene from Lang Lang with Dudamel in Notre Dame concert, which was really good) and Now I see Fazil Say is a another pianist in the highest rank. He is a pianist who completely mastered this difficult but wonderful music. Sanit Saens was really a great musician.
