Whoa Nellie! too fast! it reminds me of when I went to a Dallas Symphony concert back when Jaap Van Sweden was still conducting. He took the finale of the Tschaik 4 at about that tempo. Everyone managed to end together, but there were some places where it started pulling apart. 😮😮

See comment above to Messrs. van der Klift and Le Bras, and follow the link. You’ll doubtless be appeased.

@@musicianinseattle I guess I’ll read it too because I will need appeasement for this tempo. 😂

Or because it's marked "Allegro giocoso" and it's in cut time...

The tempo is just right. The problem seems to be the woodwinds having a hard time keeping up, that possibly makes it sounds rushed.
@michaelshaw11823 жыл бұрын
Tempo is correct, but brass and woodwinds could not keep up. Also, many intonation problems. Very poor performance from a supposedly professional outfit. Made worse by a lazy two-camera shoot.

@@michaelshaw1182 I cannot agree with your assessment of the tempo. The score reads allegro giocoso but also reads half note=132. The conductor starts the piece at half note=142 and pushes the tempo through the whole piece. It is his prerogative to take the faster tempo but I prefer Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops and their interpretation of the March.
