The stupendous amount of books that you manage to haul on your Brattle trips makes me think that the capacity of your daily bag is on par with the capacity of Santa’s sack. 🎅Merry Christmas, Steve.

Georgette Heyer mysteries are such fun. This is her funniest one.

The Keith Thomas book is a classic. Glad you like it. It featured in my degree and I’ve never forgotten it. Those Fritz Lieberman books were a great find.

Nice golden age mysteries! I love Georgette Heyer's mysteries. I like Cyril Hare's mysteries, too. Hare's An English Murder is nice to revisit at this time of year, as it's set at Christmastime. If I recall correctly, Tenant for Death is Hare's first Inspector Mallett mystery. I think The Long Divorce is one of Crispin's better Gervase Fen mysteries. Like Agatha Christie's The Moving Finger, it's about poison pen letters. The Boccaccio looks amazing.

What a haul! I'm especially interested in Prescott's Conquest of Peru. I hope you find the remaining books in the wild, even if it's online. It's all part of the hunt! Happy reading!

I found Cyril Hare’s books both very funny and equally intelligent. Edmund Cristin’s Gervaise Fen is a little too precious for my taste. Heyer’s detectived, Inspectors Hannasyde and Hemingway, are mostly interchangeable. Happy reading!

Great haul and several migrated to my Steve' books to buy notebook. I particularly want the Keith Thomas and the Prescott volumes for Historathon 2024. The Boccaccio guide also had me wetting my lips with bookish greed.

Those Mike Mignola editions are insanely expensive online. The third book is currently over 100$

I took the chance to search for a copy for you amongst the Brazilian used library shop estantevirtual (you'd be surprised the English editions of things you can find here). Sadly, nothing turned up.

hi, steve! marvel has released color reprints of the team-up comics in their masterworks hardcover series. i think they just released volume 7. very expensive though. when you record the books you've read do you count a single comic as a book read? how about a collection? an epic collection for example, would you count that as a 'book' in your tally?

That Boccaccio hardback for $1 only! Maybe Connor keeps bouncing back from being fired because there's a trampoline hidden behind the counter? Good hunting in January for Volume 4. Bonne chance!
