Sainte Chapelle 4K UHD tour Inside the Sainte Chapelle in Paris. The Sainte-Chapelle is a royal chapel in the Gothic style, within the medieval Palais de la Cité, the residence of the Kings of France until the 14th century in Paris, France. Construction began sometime after 1238 and the chapel was consecrated on 26 April 1248. The Sainte Chapelle is considered among the highest achievements of the Rayonnant period of Gothic architecture.
Although damaged during the French Revolution and restored in the 19th century, it has one of the most extensive 13th-century stained glass collections anywhere in the world.

France it's the mother and father of gothic architecture and despite all the churches and cathedrals in gothic style, this chapel still surpasses some of them, I mean look at the size of those windows and the colors, barely any walls, really magnificent work.

Breathtaking ! We were roaming around with no particular plan or guide while in Paris a few years back and happened upon this magnificent Jewel Box. Not only is it a Monument to God , it is a legacy to the brilliant people who created it. thank you for this beautiful postcard!

I saw it before restoration years ago and again 2 years after restoration on a sunny afternoon. I just stood there speechless and totally dazzled by the sheer beauty of those stained glasses, the largest collection in the world! The pinnacle of flamboyant Gothic art.

Just to think, all that stained glass is the original glass! The chapel was built in six years! Unheard of even today let alone in the 1200's. Amazing!

It’s beautiful but I’m surprised how small it is the space we could access. I wonder if some sections were closed during heritage days when admission was free. Not sure if I would pay for it. Notre dame of Strasbourg on the other hand was free and grander and bigger.
