Who loves that transition where the glass leaves the molten tin element bath at 5:50

A few questions to the manufacturer: 1) Does the float process ensure perfect flatness of the ribbon and then also of the resulting cut panes? 2) What are the quality-control tolerances of flatness vs. arc/bulge of a finished pane of glass? 3) How big do you typically cut the finished panes? 4) Did I understand that the flat glass ribbon is 500m long? If so, that is incredible! Thank you, Saint-Gobain for this video!

This is called dog house... From where glass enters furnace by the application of batch chargers where batch ( which contains silica sand, limestone, dolomite, soda ash, feldspar, carbon, cullet ) piles feeding is done... These batch piles are set by using chope gates and melt in melter area of furnace before hot spot of furnace then in some furnace there will be bubbler to homogenize glass also some design have boosters to heat glass from bottom( mostly tinted glass furnace use boosters which are made of molybdenum) ... Then enters refiners area where refinement of glass will be done by escaping the bubbles and gases present in glass also reduce Refinning Index of glass then passes neck area where it need to be passed by deep cooler (to avoid passing defects from furnace and to generate current in glass) then passes through homogenizer also called as stirrer ( its done to avoid Rim lines in glass) then enters cooling end or working end where we work on glass to achieve required temperature at canal then from tweel the glass 1115-1125°c is made to flow to tin bath, then by the application of top rollers glass is stretched and accumulated and LOR lift out rollers lift glass and pass the glass to annealing lehr.... Exit temperature of glass at tin bath will be around 630°c to 632°c the in annealing lehr glass passes from different zones like zone A B C and RET 1,2,3, then F1 F2 F3 then enters to cold end..... Glass cutting temperature will be 60°c to 80°c based on glass thickness furnace will be having regenerator which has rider arch, division walls checkers pipe holes connecting ports and crown.....furnace has L shape wall brest wall tuck stones skew beam to hold diamond brick or starter brick ( first brick of furnace crown) mostly made of zircon to avoid Direct contact of silica brick with AZS, furnace crown is made of 99% pure silica bricks some design have mullite bricks breast wall have AZS bricks and refiner breast wall is made of high quality silica bricks....furnace bottom starts with promery steel which contaims C channels in which pillers bricks are installed and in between ceramic fiber board is placed, then bottom clay blocks are placed then zircon castable is done and paving blocks are installed....melter size will is made of AZS bricks and in cooling end alpha beta jargal bricks are used L shape wall will be made of mullite brick in some design silica bricks are used and then brick are hanged by steel clips, A blowers will be continusly running to cool L shape wall......regenerator is walls are made of Low porous bricks then magnesia bricks, crome-magnesia bricks, checkers are made of magnesia, crown magnesia, they may be tubular tupe or chimney type... .god its not easy to make glasssssss🎉 thank you🙏😅

You know. I just checked the glass prices in my country, hence how I got to this video. And they became horribly high. Around an 1/8th of a monthly salary, for a square meter. That's how expensive it is right now. But glasses, I think, are one of those things that I don't think I want to produce. If I want a glass door, or glass into my door, I need to sacrifice a lot of my salary. Much less building a glass house.

Maybe I need to watch more of your videos but it didn’t show how custom glass is made. Auto glass is made.🤔

auto glass is made from float glass by cutting and shaping it in special presses, and passing it in an autoclave (if it is a laminated windshield, for example). See in Saint-Gobain Sekurit Videos
