I’m really concerned. You have McCoy, Ruis, and Fauga. Trace, it has to at least be a 7, but I think I’m going a 9. What’s even worse is that Carr is a pocket passer. I don’t wish no one ill, but maybe a sprained ankle all next year gets us out of his contract. I hate to see the man go crippled ( last year he toughed through bad injuries) but this year, if they haven’t got at least 3 more good linemen he won’t make it through the year without serious injury. And I do not like Carr as a QB. I’m concerned at least for his well being.

I think we still have allot of questions on the line I like the fueaga pick but Ruiz isn't consistent we know nothing about saldeveri and Penning is a struggle only person I can feel comfortable about is McCoy

Any Saints fan who is not being a homer, can't possibly be more than a 5 at the moment when it comes to the O-line 1-10 rating. As much as my emotions want to make me more optimistic, we have to go with what we actually KNOW and not what we want. What we KNOW is that Fuaga was a great college player but he's still a rookie learning a new system. So 1-10 I can't go more than a 6 based on the fact he has yet to take an NFL snap. Fuaga's potential is a 9, but we're talking about what we KNOW at this moment. Next, Nick Saldiveri. Again, we have no clue what he can do, he got hurt, he's a rookie for all intents. So a 5 is the unemotional grade. McCoy is a stud and a solid center. That's an 8 for me. Ruiz has been very disappointing since his resign, I can't go more than 6 here. Penning, who I have nothing but hope for, simply hasn't been good. He hasn't even been average. At this point, based on past performance, a 5 is being generous. The potential of this group is immense. But at the moment, based on we actually KNOW, this unit is a 5.

I'm excited for many of the players to break out. But I also have to go with what I have seen and I have to temper that excitement with cautiousness.

Nick played tackle in college, he can play anywhere along the line. If ryan never gets healthy dont be surprised if he ends up playing LT and fuaga stays at RT or we give penning a crack at RT since its a easier spot to play then LT

@@LZ21- I think that Nick and Penning will wind up being our guards and I think they will both be great. Penning is a nasty tempered mauler, who at guard can just focus on dominating the man in front of him while he's protected on both sides. This plays to his natural strengths while not requiring him to process too much information. Fuaga I think might be a franchise RT and I think we still need to find that franchise LT.

So....we have one new starter in Fuaga and we lost Peat and Hurts. The OL looks awful. The offense is the same as last year. The defence got better probably. We need big step up by coaches and young players or we still mediocre.

Rattler absolutely should be the QB2. I think he is going to be better than Haener, who I've never been impressed with. If they moved Penning inside to guard, where he might be better, do we have someone else we could shift to LT? Trading Lattimore would be a mistake. I'm not sure about Kool-Aid yet, really worried about the zero interceptions. Overall, I trust the defense far more than the offense this year.

But, to crown a 5th round rookie who has never played one snap in even a preseason NFL game is just stupid and disrespectful to Haener who has at least had playing time in NFL preseason games and taken team reps on an actual NFL team.
