Saw her in Tosca tonight. She's definitely worked on her high notes! She was breathing fire on those high Bs and Cs. It was an utterly amazing performance. So grateful to have heard her live!

Si, da gusto escucharla, voz fresca, no contreñida, sin tensión, bien colocada, buena presencia escénica, concentrada, atenta a la música., buen fraseo, sabe declamar. Entiende y estudia el personaje y al compositor, atiende a las posibilidades del director.. Una cantante muy, muy completa.

She has uploaded some recent videos of herself..... and i think she has improved a lot, even though there's one video, wherein as I belive, she sings suicidio from la gioconda even better that we saw in this video. Just stunning, obviusly not like the great old ones... but she is managing to thrive and has started to transmit and sing in such way. I do belive Saioa will be able to take over the high notes and our hearts and ears with them. Just can wait to see the day when she will be able to deal with high notes because is something that really gets me out of the arias and of the opera itself like bad modern conductors (Tebaldi you were so right).

She is incredible signing all the great dramatic arias from Gioconda,Andrea Chenier,Butterfly,Macbeth,Nabucco,Tosca etc. She truly is the best Spin to/Dramatic Soprano of our time. She does have to work on clearly articulating her trills and fioratura when singing roles like Lady Macbeth and Abigaille. For the most part she's fine with Bellini. Otherwise she's absolutely first rate.

I love her low and middle voice, but her high notes are a often little problematic in the same vein as Barbieri and even some Caballe recordings. Brilliant singer nevertheless.

Her chest voice goes higher than you'd expect. F sharp in chest voice is questionable from an aesthetic point of view at least in my opinion. Her high notes are good but not old school good

While I agree could have covered those F sharps a bit, they are still much better than the F sharps of the majority of the other sopranos singing this rep. They don’t really bother me that much aesthetically.

Opera is not supposed to be sung piano very often, only in specific arias in certain operas. The principle of opera is to be heard in a big concert hall with many instruments playing at the same time... I agree being able to sing piano is necessary but I am confident she can (and I've heard her) when necessary.

Needs further work?? That’s a laugh. As of 2021, 12 years into her career, she’s doing just fine. You couldn’t name 3 other contemporary operatic sopranos who sing better than Saoia or who are having a more successful career. She’s become a great artist, and is always growing. Her voice is full throated and effortlessly resonant from top to bottom. She has gleaming top notes, and the best middle and low register of anyone singing today. Her Act 2 Traviata duet with 79 year old Placido (sounding like he’s 45!) from last year is simply stunning.
