That's the challenge, you can pick saitama he is invincible but the consequences of using him is thatt he has a long cooldown so basically you only have two heroes you can depend in early while the enemy have three so you will have a hard time summoning saitama specially if you aren't that good

From what I can see, Saitama himself is more just a symptom or catalyst for a much bigger problem. Keep-away playstyles looks like it has no real "counter" in this game. In a 2D fighter, you're in an enclosed space and the enemy can always catch up. Playing keepa-way is rather difficult if you want to keep a life-lead (assuming equal circumstances for the fighers). Plus a lot of games have penalty mechanics for running away constantly. Playing that way is a measure of defensive skill to clutch a win. I'd even argue that in the Ultimate Ninja Storm games using high character mobility and good attack tracking made keep-away a fairly difficult strategy. It was possible, but fairly hard, especially with dashes generally being good against weak projectiles even taken head-on. That's an Arena Fighter that did things pretty well in that regard. But so far I'm not seeing much of a way to punish keep-aways in this game, which only favors Saitama players that benefit the most from that playstyle. People that care more about Winning through any means can (and will) abuse the system to ruin the fun for people that actually want to "fight". I was hoping that the game devs would think of measures to prevent people from only spamming runaway tactics, but I don't see much of that here. It's entirely possible that there are alternate mechanics players just aren't aware of yet that could help, or maybe something will change in the final game. But so far, I'm not impressed with how the game handles its own pacing.

Saitama's timer should be about 1.5 - 2 times the match timer so it would place some risks choosing him in the team. And if he is not arrive by the time's ran out, it's automatically win for the opposite side. If both team have Saitama, then just calculate from remaining health

Its an 3asy fix make it so 1. If the opponent runs a certain distances they get tire, 2. As the time decreases o the match the distance a character can go gets lower and 3.I your stamina of running gets low you take 30%more damge on any opponent attack

To solve this: not hitting your opponent (even if he blocks) for more than 5 seconds should add to the timer 5 seconds (an animation of Saitama getting distracted). That way you can´t run the whole fight.

mancalledhero In theory those could help fix the problem but in practice I don’t see it working. When I see people try to be aggressive to decrease the saitama timer already , most of the time the opponent already lost 2 characters and a badly injured 3rd character when saitama arrives which kinda defeats the purpose of having a trump card when they are already pretty much dead. You could say saitama is there to be a flex on the opponent but you could win fights by simply using anyone besides saitama and being super agro. If I had to change how saitama worked all I would do is decrease the time it takes for saitama arrive and only have him on the field for 10-15 seconds so you only can kill around 1 character which can make the fight even.

Here's a fix, reduce the saitama timer to say, 60 seconds, then make saitama temporary. After say, 10 seconds, Saitama runs to the supermarket for the rest of the game. That way saitama can exist, but if you're as good at running away as the saitama player is, he wont be an issue.

Saitama would be utterly lame as a normal ass character. His whole fighting style is just casually throwing attacks and his gimmick as a hero is that he can effortlessly KO anyone in a single attack. And Beerus in Fighterz last I checked is trash tier. The game is fun in spite of some characters being poorly represented, not because of it. That and Beerus has a gimmick beyond punching (those bouncing balls).

KanaAtem you missed my point. Fighterz attempts at a good balanced roster to have longevity. So their game is *"FUN"* and is continually being played *BECAUSE* you can outplay *ANY CHARACTER* with *ANY CHARACTER.* It depends on your *SKILLS.* Beerus who could flick yamcha in the dome and bust his brains out in the actual series- can lose to him in fighterz... And my opinion and view of beerus as a character- never changed Saitama would literally do just fine as either a top tier or a low tier. Especially low tier since hes already broken in his own series.

How does that benefit his character to just be some character with top tier stats or a character who is a bad representation of himself and gets trashed and discarded at high level? Saitama isn't simply Goku or Beerus who while they can one hit some characters they are still on level with other characters. His entire gimmick is being far and above everyone even when he tries to hold back Saitama's tiers are irrelevant. You can make him low tier while keeping the time limit and him being OP once he arrives pretty easily. But you seem to be suggesting they should disregard his OP gimmick entirely in favor of being normal low tier character who can be beat by just hitting him. That makes him less unique AND it makes him a crappy representation of himself. What benefit is there in a Saitama who can be physically beaten into submission? I'd rather he not be playable at all.

Maybe give Saitama a charge that when he is charging he just stands and when he is hit he takes minimal damage like he does now but is vulnerable to grabs, the punch should be powerful and knock enemies back when his charge bar is full, consecutive punches should deal less damage than the normal punch and deal no knock back and ignore block if the enemy meter is middle or less, Upper cut should remain special at full charge set up for combos, when he comes in he should not deal damage and instead instantly just become an option when he is switched to dealing aoe damage coming down from the sky or across the screen depending on the last used attack.

In a game with rather basic anime-fighter mechanics, and a predictable cast with little surprises in anything else ; the Saitama concept is actually the most interesting part. I really think if it weren't for this mechanic, the game wouldn't even slightly catch my eye. The gameplay is boring, and lacks depth to it's combo systems, but this? This is so, so fun. There's nothing more nerve-wracking then having Saitama on the screen. There's a distinct pressure to him that captures the feel of the anime. I genuinely fear his presence, as you never know when he's gonna strike and end it. Fighting against him gives you a false sense of a 'chance', like you could possibly win against him.

I think the problem is that this games as many arena fighters dont have inactive punishments, in games like guilty gear or similars you lose you special bar if you dont run towards your enemy or attack on long periods of time and I think in blaz blue they even lower your defense at some point. There should be a system that the more you run, it makes saitama take longer with like random events, like he stops to help an old lady or he gets in a fight with someone annoying etc.

i think they could fix it by making his timer longer then the match timer idk how much you would have to do tho and make him not count as health pool for win conditions. That should force them to have to try to force the time down by out playing or they lose by health, but then again if its too long for him to show it might just switch the running rolls. maybe ad a way to extend the time as well so if the other guy plays well he can make you wait longer

Saitama is like using an Exodia deck in Yu-Gi-Oh. Sure, you can win with it but you need to stall out a good chunk of the match and land combos to get him out faster. It's far more beneficial to just use anyone else for the third slot.

I feel like a system similar to like what BlazBlue has would work well for this. If you're consistently running away from the fight and blocking, it will put a negative status effect on your character making them take more damage when hit. This will encourage you to stay engaged in combat and reduce the timer through the guards/combos.

Well I've played every session at least 30 games and won most if not all of them except the first one (because I just learned the game) and I played genos sonic and deep sea king and tbh most saitama players didnt run away at all the were aggressive I had 1 guy that run away and i just killed him with deep sea with only 2 combos it depends on the player but saitama isn't a problem for me
