this is the only man ive ever seen explain in detail why Japanese artists make the choices they do with the anime artstyle, it really breaks down the wall of "oh they just do it like that"
This video is brilliant! I had never seen anyone talking about stylization in these terms. I feel like I've learned SO much since I started following you, sensei! Not only practical tips, but also more theoretical topics like this one, which I would only expect to see in top-notch art university classes. And you offer all of this to us for free, with subtitles and all. Thank you so much!! I truly appreciate everyhing you share and what you do for the art community.
I find it similar to the fact that math students memorize formulas but cant demonstrate from where those formulas came, or the same with theorems, pretty interesting
When I start taking art seriously, the first thing that I practice is on the eyes.. After 4 years or practicing, I thought I already know how to draw anime eyes correctly, but today I learn something new after watching this video. Thanks Naoki sensei!
waah, Saito Sensei, this is very helpful! Your video has answered my questions and I've wondered for a while. What a perfect timing! ありがとう ございます

Thank you for this lesson! I spent a lot of time trying to understand how to stylize drawings and what parts to simplify or reduce or exaggerate. Your lesson uses clear examples and a positive attitude, which makes it easier to learn.
