My friend got way ahead of me over a long period of time, both in terms of skill and when it comes to socialising with other people in game (it was an online multiplayer with a guild system) I could feel how I was falling behind everyone and that I couldn't really do anything about it to catch up, after a while I just started losing interest in the game due to various reasons (including this, but also the game just started getting stale after playing it for more than a year I think) and eventually I quit the game. It always feels weird to think back on it
