Jagjitji in his later years had an unbelievable control of emotions that he could create. He became so good that each word that he said had a universe of feeling in them and this is true for Lataji . A million feelings poured into each word , each verse. Sajda is a fantastic album to own and i was lucky to buy this in tape a few decades back. It was a explosion of beautiful musical composition, great poems... and as a few have said. Its indeed a gift for us. Thank you very much Lataji, Jagjitji and all the lyrcisists

Sajda is a very unique double album, if I remember correctly. I purchased this set of LP by Lathaji and Jagjit Singhji, even before I listened to it. I took it for granted that it would be studded with priceless gems and believe me I am hooked to them. This was back in India. After coming to USA, searched Indian audio shops and found the set of CD and they are loaded into my car stereo to listen the moment get into it. Lathaji matched word to word with the king of Gazal and Geet. I always get lost while listening. Amazing compositions by Jagjit Singhji. Right now I am listening from KZbin.

Yes, you are absolutely correct. "Sajda" was released in 1991 as a double volume with a total of 16 ghazals. As I recollect, HMV were getting vey irritated by how long Jagjit was taking to complete it. Of course, the tragedy of loosing his son around the time took a lot from him. However, he returned back to the studio with Daman Sood and completed the album recording over 25 ghazals in the process! Only 16 were retained and a follow up album never materialised. Lata and Jagjit later went on to record the wonderful film album "Nargis" (1992) which I always listen as a double with "Sajda".

A big gift left by Late Jagjit Singh ji in his voice & nightingale of India Lata Mangeskar ji, no doubt contribution of these wonderful Ghazals which have come down from Turkey, via Samarkand(Uzbekistan) the Mughals came into India and then fused Turkic/Farsi, languages with Hindi out of which has come out a beautiful language Urdu!!! the Mughals came via Afghanistan where Farsi was mainly spoken from it's neighboring country Iran, Pushto the other language spoken came much later!!! Turkey had very good Poets during that period!!! Unfortunately the cruel madman Babur the Mughals came into India who are descendants of the Mongols later converted to Islam came from Uzbekistan via Afghanistan/Pakistan(today) into India!!! This is history anyone can check it out!!! So, without the mad man Babur there would be no Urdu in India/Pakistan strange??? If u think of it Urdu is spoken only in 2 Countries around the World!!!

Dil chone waali baat kisi mein bhi nahi hai .Dard se mera daaman bhar de mein woh baat nahi jo Jagjit singh ke gaaye mein hai . Lataji ki awaaz mein vibration lagbhag hai hi nahi jo ki Ghazal gaayeki ki jaan hoti hai .
