Hey 👋, nice Rope walk. I use em too. Unfortunately, rope walking with the rope wrench is not so well known here in Germany.

What device are you using, a mechanical?

@@philosborn1840 At first I used the Camp Goblin as a mechanical device for the rope walk. It is also approved for this purpose. Normally the Goblin is a mobile fall arrester like the Petzl asap. But with the Goblin you can only ascend the rope. For descending I use several devices, depending on my mood. Petzl IDs, or the Edelrid Megawatt. Recently I have preferred using the Edelrid Pinch. It is so small and flexible that it is just fun to use. I also have a Notch flow rope wrench fusion tether combo. But that was only delivered to me from the USA a month ago. I don't have much experience with it yet. I uploaded a short about it on my channel if you are interested.

Honestly you looked better than I did my first time but I jumped into it with just a tiny bit less forethought than you did it seems. Using gloves was a game changer which you may or may not like. It is annoying taking them off to do detail work or keeping them on through it but the way it grips the rope really helped me for some reason. Doesn’t look like you need any help just sharing my experience as I’m a new climber too. Thanks for sharing and filming your journey.

Super,like watching myself as I've a similar set up,I'm 67 and only been climbing for a couple of years,love it.Have you gone to an ISA competition yet,great learning experience.

Hi Steve, I have been climbing for about the same time as you. I’ve got the same number of years as you on God’s green earth too! I haven’t been to a ISA competition yet but I’m heading to a OTCC event in September in Ontario.

Hi Steve, yes the event in Ontario this weekend is a ISA event! It’s is in Mississauga in stead of Burlington Ontario. Are you from the GTA area?
