The Dream Journey - Discovering musicians across Pakistan (A Non Profit Project)
An exhilarating journey of six friends with a shared passion for discovering and recording musicians in their living environments. This project will be the sharing of a special experience in which we hope you will want to participate.
Some of the musicians are established and famous, others are among the brilliant budding talent that adorns Pakistan’s musical scene. Each of the mehfils has a distinct atmosphere and mood, but there is a common thread. We asked each of the musicians to stay close to their respective inherited musical traditions, allowing the singers an opportunity to present some pieces that are rarely heard today.
We are inspired to present the brilliance of this contemporary Pakistani vocal music to a wider audience and seek your financial assistance in making this possible.

'सकल बन' गीत का इतिहास है कि मूल रूप से अवध/हिंदी भाषी है,जो हजरत अमीर खुसरो ने वहां के लोककलाकार से सीखा एवं बाद में हजरत निजामुद्दीन के स्तुती में प्रसिद्ध किया। भारत / हिंदुस्तान के बटवारे के लिए तत्पश्चात दुख व्यक्त करने से अच्छा बटवारे का समर्थन न करके, जोर से विरोध क्यों नही किया बडे गुलाम अली साहब ने। बटवारें का निर्णय केवल धार्मिक कट्टरवाद एवं हिंदुद्वेष के बल था।

This is a really good recording...good to see them get better over time..its fascinating to see how when the old guard moves over, the younger lot take over and the silsila continues. All said Manzoor Niazi was one of a kind and what a lovely voice he had... Maybe you would also want to change the title of this video - in deference to Niazi sb's insistence on the real word ??

I loved tarana in raag des from Fareed ayyaaz sahab and Abu Mohammed sahab. I loved this one too but its a little less energetic. Is that the difference between raag des and raag bahar? Padon my ignorance.
