A very special piece, musically and lyrically. I first listened to this in 1987, as a young teenage Sakamoto fan growing up in south London. This kind of music was a wonderful escape. It still holds a certain surreal power, this track. Uncanny and beautiful.
The way he changes keys is very special, I don't know what it is, lots of music does it, but there's something about how he makes the melody so fluently adhere to the changes that it almost makes it sound it's all in the same key
