People don't appreciate the vast contributions Finland has made to polka music. That's because most people don't appreciate polka music in general. Or music, really. Let's face it-you can't win.

As an accordionist I have to agree with you, but also finnish waltzes and jenkkas are awesome compositions. Speaking of Viljo Vesterinen, by far my favorite accordionist, pieces like Soittajan Kaipuu, Kaukomaita Kohti, Mandshurian Kukkuloilla (Shatrov's waltz played in F#m), Sirkkojen Tanssi and Säkkijärven Polkka are incredible compositions that sadly are forgotten.

My Grandfather gifted me one of his accordions and it opened up a world of new music performances for me and of everything I've found this is by far my favorite and also the absolute best playing of any song. Truly masterful and I aspire to hopefully play even half as well someday and make my grandpa proud
