I have a strange way of dealing with the whole competition problem I'm not sure if it's the healthiest or best solution but I find it to be a super encouraging mindset: focus on the things that make you unique, what's your favorite color or shape or emotion? Try to capture those using the experiences that only you have had, because nobody can possibly compete to be you because you are the only you. I hope that makes sense and might be useful.

Great tips Sakku and completely agree about not giving up. I was getting frustrated with simple character designing but it’s slowly beginning to come together. Not tried created worlds or even trees yet but will try to create scenes from references like you have to start with. Loved the tip of using touch pad to rotate shapes! Saw tutorial that did it with paint mixer but didn’t know it works with shapes too :) keep up the videos as I’m sure lots of people with find them useful and hopefully your subscribers continue to grow :)

There is one thing I need clarifying and no one seems to mention it so maybe it’s just me but when in sculpt mode, when moving shapes that have been subtracted from or even spray painted, they don’t keep there newly formed shape or colour and revert back to original shape/ colour when moved out of the area they were cut or painted in. if i sculpt a basic cube and move it in sculpt mode then it retains its shape but if I cut into the cube then move it, it returns to its original cube shape If I scope out of the newly shaped or painted cube (into assembly mode) then I can move it about and it retains its shape and colour. Is this me just miss understanding the sculpt mode? Hope that makes sense

Thank you for this video mate. I had already given up and deleted days worth of work on dreams. This video has inspired me to get back into creating. Would you also be doing a beginner tips video on animation and logic? A lot of the videos I've watched on the topic are sped up too fast and I can't follow. I can copy over an animation or microchip but am not learning how to do it myself. Again thanks for the video.
@SakkusMind4 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for your feedback, I'm glad that I was able to inspire you to keep creating! =) Also a general logic tutorial is really hard since there are so many things in logic to cover while I'm not really experienced myself with it yet but I'll definitely dive into logic and animation in some ways as well for you guys! :)
@bendaonfire00784 жыл бұрын
My tip for logic. From years of experience as a programmer. When you see a new programming language and you need to write a code(this time dreams logic) you write down in your language step by step of what you want it to do. And for animation I just copy from mixamo. With a bit trying. (Dont do what i do and jump straight to code because i am to lazy to get a pen and paper)
@WhatIsMyPorpoise4 жыл бұрын
Quick tip in general, never delete old projects. Keep them and one day you'll come back to them.

Great video! Loads of hugely helpful tips. I was a good creator in LBP so assumed I’d get dreams right of the bat but when the beta came around I struggled to get used to the controls. So much so that I didn’t play it for a good 6months before I tried again. Practice really makes perfect. I found that just doing the early tutorials over helped me master the movements.
@devak451674 жыл бұрын
Could you go into more detail about why you suggest using the motion controls over the sticks? The sticks are just so much more comfortable for me, but I don’t want to build a bad habit if they are really poor for more advanced techniques. Thanks for all these amazing guides!
@waqasaftab14034 жыл бұрын
I use sticks as well, I couldn't get used to motion control and I believe it will be the same with move controller. I don't think stick will restrict your work or creativity as I have been following Sakkus tutorials and have created like for like world's/art Hope this helps
@SkemeKOS4 жыл бұрын
@@waqasaftab1403 Just stick(no pun intended...) to what you're used to, but I imagine using the sticks will be slower to create with, compared to motion controls. I tried using the sticks after I have mastered the motion controls and they feel so bad. But that's just because I've been used to the motion controls for a year. One advantage stick mode has, is that its more precise, but I've only ever needed to switch to stick mode once, and that was for VERY precise movement of some extremely thin text box gadgets. But that's about it, thankfully! I dread using them ever again!
@SakkusMind4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for you guys feedback under this comment and I might have to change my opinion a little since it was mainly focused on my own experience. I tried the stick controls for a bit just out of curiosity and I found it not very useful compared to when you got used to the motion controls. I still think the motion controls will let your work a lot faster and precision is no problem either but it's probably the same with the stick controls, it might only needs enough practice as well. What I can tell you guys for sure though is that it's completely normal that it feels very wrong in the beginning with motion controls but you will eventually get to the point where the controler just becomes as natural as your hand with the motion controls! ^^
@devak451674 жыл бұрын
Sakku's Mind awesome, thanks so much for your input! Seriously I told all my friends who have Dreams to sub to your channel these guides are fantastic. I started last night redoing some tutorials in motion control mode and I can definitely see how some things are way better this way. I just have to get used to it. I think I’ll keep working to learn both control methods to have flexibility. Thanks again so much Sakku!

I gotta say my only frustration with Dreams is more about the controls variation. I mean that I have move controllers and everything I saw at first and in it's marketing was to use the move controllers it's way better. But by the time I really started enjoying move controllers I'm seeing that the games tutorials for them are really limited and also everyone online like this only uses DS4. i mean it makes sense, who has the stupid move controllers? but I had some (from VR) and I love the controls that way, now I need to suck it up and just try it with DS because all the best tutorials in-game and on youtube like Sakku only address DS. And they are quite different, it's not an easy jump. Are there any youtubers doing tutorials using move controllers for this?
