@@cyclo360 Your so right about the last few years of Remington quality control! In 1967 Emigrated to Australia under the GAPS Scheme. While at Bonegilla went hunting rabbits on a farmers paddock. Had a US Springfield M2 bolt action rife in .22 Hornet with a 6x Lyman scope! What great days of hunting waiting for my clearance to work a Garden Island Navy Yard. I used to repair fire control computers that were mechanical/optical as the RAAN had need of repairman in the 60’s. Returned back to the US after a stroke. Recovered over a year. Loved Australia was treated incredibly well. Great people at Garden Island well maintained ships and incredible sailors!

@@alanfenick1103 Hi Alan, you sure have had an interesting life. Yes the rabbits would have been thick back then (pre myxo). Now they are a lot harder to find, have been out twice in the past week and only seen 6. Yes Australia WAS the lucky country , now its a over regulated nanny country. Just about everything is either banned or you need piles of permits. Even the Estes black powder rocket engine...To buy those you need to be over eighteen, have an explosives permit and have permission from the local council just to purchase and launch the bloody things. I understand that in the US you only have to be over the age of 12. Stupid, pathetic Aussie politicians...Im surprised they havent banned meat pies cos you might burn your tongue if theyre too hot🤣🙄. Anyway, thanks for your reply. atb, Sean.

So far black powder is restricted to dealer who have an explosive proof locked bunker! Limited to two pounds at a time! Smokeless powders is not restricted! What a shame with all the restrictions in Australia! The country was good too me! I still have friends who I talk too frequently and some have visited me here I the US! Kinda funny received a call from a government research agency wanting to talk about mechanical optical fire control computers! Long obsolete but built with incredible workmanship and precision! The thumbnail shows your rifle on the hood of your VW. No issue with it, but I recommend ensuring the muzzle extends beyond the parallel axis of the windshield.
