I found this video on the Winter Solstice, December 21, 2024. Beautiful how you tied together so many myths, legends, symbolism, megalithic ancient monuments, religions and enlightenment. Truly the most holistic explanation of sun worship and the human experience I have ever heard. Thank you! ❤

Truly amazing, thank you for putting so much time and effort into helping us all understand the meaning of the winter solstice. This video alone provides undeniable evidence that all our ancient traditions and practices around the world are connected, and that it must be directly related to the reason for humanities existence.

Hello, I read your previous two books and they heavily influenced my view on humanities history and kind of shed a new light on christianity for me. But I struggled to fully connect the dots between my heavily gnostic worldview and the ancient religion of the sun, which I also felt really drawn to. And now you just connected those dots, with ease. This blew my mind. You merged my understanding of the gnostic scriptures and the religion of the sun and how they are, once again, a different coloured pointer onto the same thing. This really enriched my perspective and gave me lots of new thoughts. Felt like a rush of sudden understanding. Thank you!!!

What a great explanation of the path of the Sun through darkness and light and especially how it can be born within us as we deep in to that darkness within, understand it then destroy it as you demonstrated by that slaying of the dragon.... Amazing how this process and guidance is not just symbolised by the movement of the Sun but there are clues all around us in our everyday mandane life too... Thank so much you for your concern and appreciation! I've been away because we've been working on some new books. The next will be out in Feb-March 2024. I am a Celt, pure blooded and free 😉 I haven't come across a reference to a black sun specifically in ancient texts. The closest thing is the "night sun," which is found in ancient Egypt, Aztec, and Mayan beliefs, which was simply the sun as it journeyed out of sight, through the hours of the night. I know Satanists (modern and ancient), hate the sun, as it is the emanation of the divine light. They wish to block or black out the sun, as they worship darkness. Whether that has anything to do with the later concept of a black sun, I don't know, as I am yet to research it.
@luciaom9929

@@SakroSawel The Satanists/Globalists definitely hate the Sun, don't they? As well as Christmas, little children, and anything beautiful, innocent and of Light. Let's hope their plans of blocking the Sun won't succeed. Just sat on the terrace, watching the pure blue sky (no chemtrails, wondering if they are taking a holiday break already), and the shining sun, reflecting on the snow on the ground, so beautiful, clear and warm!

Wow Phillip, nice to hear from you. The books come directly from Amazon (or other book sellers) so I'm not able to sign them. It's a shame to hear you can't afford them at the moment. We don't get any money from their sale, but even without that, the price is high with what Amazon and the printer takes, and the prices keep going up. I had thought of setting something up so that those who would like to could chip in and cover the cost of a book for those who can't afford one. Maybe we could get something like that sorted for you. Thank you for your kind wishes. Blessed solstice ☀

@@SakroSawelthat is a great idea. Sometimes people put their books on flash drives and sell electronic versions much cheaper, but it can be a huge hassle. Taking orders and payments then shipping, and hoping the drive is not corrupted. But it is one option to consider. Not sure how much support you guys can get in those regards. I have two of your books, the older version and the updated one. I have them tucked away for now.
@pipippu89

No problem, Lara. It is not a deal breaker, that you wouldn't be able to sign them. It just would have been a nice addition. I didn't wanna sound like a cheapskate, for not being able to buy your books right now - or like I was trying to get freebies. I am more than happy to pay for them, as I would want you to at least get the money back, which you put into this amazing work. It is just that I am relying on government support, financially - and have been for some years. So I just barely scrape by each month with money, making ends meet - not being able to afford much - outside groceries and other necessities. I have been dealing with depression for many years and am not really able to work much if at all, since I have very low energy and strength. But I try to get better, slowly. Sorry for the long message. I just wanted to thank you a lot. With my depression I have lost almost all happiness and hope in a better life, and I often get dragged down and I become melancholic and sad, about a better time long gone. I often feel like I was born in the wrong age. I guess I would have been much happier in a time of the ancients, where life was more simple but also more spiritual and less hedonistic. Modernity often makes me sick, as I feel so repulsed by many things of our "modern" way of life. Your videos and your presentation, with your calm voice, the beautiful music, and the imagery often bring me a bit of solace and inner peace - some sort of inner peace and happiness, that not all is lost and for nothing. I am so happy that some select few, like you, are trying to keep the old ways and spirit alive. Your content is always a blessing in these dark times. Thanks for everything. I will definitely get your books, when I saved up some money. Don't worry! Take care ☀️🙏🏻✨

@pipippu89 I hear you Phillip. I think it's a very hard time for people like us to be alive. There is a kind of trauma that comes from seeing so much of what is truly beautiful and good laid to waste. The soul craves something much deeper than what modern life offers, and one is left wandering a barren, arid land like a man stumbling on through a desert without drink. But I take heart in knowing that as hard as it is, we are each here for a reason; that we all have a purpose, and that our soul has come here to learn something - the very thing we need to propel us on the next step of our journey through the wonder that is creation. I feel now is an important time in which we come together to rekindle the ancient ways, and that many souls will be drawn to the light to build something better on this earth.

@@SakroSawel Thank you for your kind words, Lara. I think you are right. I am grateful that I had to go through this suffering in some sense, and I still do go through it to this day. But wouldn't I have fallen down into this dark abyss, I believe that I wouldn't have questioned many things in our modern day, and probably wouldn't be interested in the metaphysical and spiritual topics, as I am now. So I guess, everything bad has a positive aspect to it as well. Thanks again for all your work and your videos and books. Nice to hear from you Oliver. I'm sorry about my delayed reply - I was working on a video for the equinox, which I just published. The hero's journey is something that Joseph Campbell identified. If you notice, it's illustrated on a wheel, and it's major stages, like where the hero descends into the underworld, goes through a symbolic death, and rebirth, and then returns changed, actually correspond to the major turning points of the sun at the solstices and equinoxes. This journey was used in the ancient world to illustrate the path of the initiate in the quest for enlightenment. It essentially expresses an innate pattern in creation that also applies to the journey of consciousness. Because it does, it resonates so much with us, and has been used as the basis for many modern films and stories.

What a beautiful video! So good you're back making these! These videos always help me to understand something new about esoteric solar celebrations and inspire me to try to find the inner connection with them that you exude...! I love the tartan and the torque. 🙂 This time the bit about the rams' horns stood out - I always wondered about the meaning of the symbolism of the ram in solar worship. Something that is puzzling me is the meaning of the Saturnalia festival that culminated in the celebration Sol Invictus on 25th December ... why is the worship of Saturn and the Sun so interwoven here? Is it just because the sun is born into Capricorn which is ruled by Saturn? Then why is the goat which symbolises Capricorn often linked to satan, when the ram, which seems to be its cousin, is such a positive symbol? Maybe because Capricorn/Saturn/the goat rules the darkest time of the year it can be used by the forces of darkness? But then I heard that the goat in Cap symbolises the huge mountain the sun has to climb to the summer solstice and all that strength - not a bad thing! Any help to unravel this spaghetti of symbolism in my mind would be much appreciated!

I don't know as it's not something I've looked into, and the origins of the Roman god Saturn and Saturnalia seem very ancient and obscure, but I can say a couple of things. Saturn sounds as though he may have been based on an ancient King, who was a giant, possibly from the times of Atlantis. He was remembered as having brought civilization to a group of humans and ruled over them creating a time of peace and plenty, and the cities he founded all have remnants of ancient cyclopean architecture (which is very interesting). Saturnalia was apparently a recreation of that time in which there was abundance, happiness, and all lived as equals. It's timing leading up to the winter solstice was said to demonstrate Saturn's ability to subdue the forces of chaos, though that's speculation. Like you, I find it strange that it occurred at the darkest time of the year (not a good sign). There are associations between Saturn, Saturnalia, and human sacrifice (thankfully Hercules was said to have abolished these!); I don't know if it's possible to now know whether king Saturn originally demanded sacrifice, or whether it was a later but still ancient practice. In terms of the goat symbol, I think there is a tendency for the human mind to want to ascribe a singular meaning to things. But a goat has both positive and negative qualities, and so can be used to symbolize something good or bad.

@@SakroSawel Thanks so much for these insights! I do remember now reading about how Saturn was said to rule the Golden Age and can see how by the creator God being celebrated at the darkest point of the year it's also worshiping the beginning of order and structure after chaos, in that way the birth of the sun and the reign of Saturn go beautifully together. It's interesting and quite frustrating how symbols and meanings become so obfuscated and mixed in with symbols of darkness - I can see how that tendency of the mind to want to pin a singular meaning takes hold!

As a Christian I welcome any other religion and I celebrate my roots in the ancient Celts of central Europe or specifically the Bohemians where my ancestors are from. I love that you are teaching us the ways of spiritual beings. As a Christian I believe that it is wrong to say that we are the only true religion. I reject that. I hope this comment doesn’t end up lost, I’m struggling and curious to hear other perspectives. I’ve been feeling really nihilistic and scared about existence. How do you reconcile existence being one big loop? I don’t understand why the thought is so scary to me, but it terrifies me. I can’t see that life has any real purpose, I’m just one of billions of billions of people alive now/ in the past. Any meaning or purpose that I feel, feels like it comes from my brain just making it up. I feel so stuck, I wish I could just enjoy my one shot at life, but it’s like I’m so preoccupied by thoughts like these.

I'd recommend watching the accounts of people who've had near-death experiences. They often are given profound insights into the purpose of life. From my understanding, we don't repeat things in an endless loop, but gradually learn and develop our soul through every event we live through. As the universe is infinite, so too then is knowledge and the potential development of our soul. Through this development we grow in peace, love, happiness, and wisdom, bringing us ever closer to the Source. All beings are somewhere along this process, and all of us are part of the same Source, like one great cosmic family. Your preoccupation with thoughts like this indicates to me that your soul is searching for truth, and its way home.

Hi there, in addition to what SakroSawel said, I thought to also point out that we are not our brain or thoughts (no matter how convincing they sound at times), but we are “that thing” beyond our thoughts, which was always there since we were born, this “presence” that observes everything and goes through everything. In other words, we are this consciousness/soul (whatever you wish to call it), and according to the ancient scriptures, it has a chance to develop to a very high degree through this “material school” we live here. Also, we don’t just have “one shot” at life, (that would not be much learning, would it?), but many, and we learn through the law of action and reaction, or karma, as its called in eastern religions, in other words, we reap what we sow, either in this life, or in the next. The goal is nothing less than becoming spiritual beings one day, with LOTS of knowledge and love, and stop recycling on these material lives, but stay living in higher dimensions (and possibly keep helping others from there). This is my understanding after many years of spiritual study and practice, hope it can be of some help. Sending you friendly hugs! 🌞

I’ve followed your work for several years now, and I truly admire your dedication and passion for these deep topics. I love your videos, and think you do brilliant research. I can’t say I agree with your viewing the ancient sun worship through the gnostic lens, and I’m assuming that’s what you’re doing because of some of the things you’ve mentioned in this video. If I’m wrong I apologize! It’s only natural for us not to agree with everything that others think, no matter how much we like their work. We must follow our own mind, and go with that which makes sense to us. The problem I have with connecting the gnostic worldview to any pagan gods is that to me ancient pagan spirituality at least for ancient ethnic European tribes and kingdoms, is that old world pagan Europeans followed a very nature-based spirituality which painted a very positive and wholesome picture of organic nature, of earth, and organic life, and gnostic well, they paint a very negative toxic picture of all these things. Historical pagan Europeans didn’t view the physical/material world/organic nature and life as some evil prison, or punishment, and gnostic do possess this view. I’m not too sure about other ethnic Europeans groups, but as far as I am aware, historical pagan Slavs did not view the cycle of reincarnation as an evil prison that they must break away from so that they can ascend up to some spiritual dimension. They did not want to break away from the cycle of death and rebirth, because they didn’t view it as negative. I think even they saw immortality in the continuation of generations of their bloodlines. And you can apply this to pagan Armenians as well. So I am not convinced that European pagan people saw the world through the eyes of gnostics. European pagans could not have viewed the earth as an evil physical prison that traps the spirit, because clearly they understood that the earth realm is not fully material because they knew all organic life is imbued with spirit, meaning that for the earthly realm, there is no separation between spirit and matter, because there is no completely material earth that is completely void of spirit. Again if I’ve misunderstood you pls forgive my mistake
@SakroSawel
@SakroSawel 11 ай бұрын
I appreciate your very thoughtful comment. In some ways I'd agree with you. The trouble is that both paganism and Gnosticism suffered the same destruction at the hands of the Church, so that much of what they believed was destroyed and now they are open to different interpretations. In terms of the Gnostics, much of what we know about them is found in the Nag Hammadi Library, which is a collection of somewhat diverse texts that reveal there were many interpretations of Jesus's teaching. These different groups were hunted down and their texts mostly destroyed (just a few of their texts have been discovered in the last couple of hundred years) so that just one interpretation remained - that of mainstream Christianity. It's true that some Gnostic texts portray the material world as a prison. But there are others, like the Essene Gospel of Peace in particular, which record teachings Jesus supposedly gave about nature, which describe it very much as you do - as a place imbued with the spirit. The Hungarian scholar Edmond Szekely claimed to have found it in the Vatican Library, but the Vatican denies it exists, and so we have no way of really knowing whether this text is real, though it's certainly true the Vatican keeps scores of ancient texts locked away. So you see the problem. In terms of European pagan religions, these largely derived from a common Indo-European source. While these traditions were almost entirely destroyed in Europe (though not entirely - we have the Norse Eddas and Welsh Mabinogion for example), they survived in India, and til fairly recently partially in Iran. I also argue (though it's too much to go into here) that ancient Egyptian, Mesopotamian, and many Native American religions are also related. By comparing what we know about these traditions, it's possible to reconstruct what ancient European pagans (those who built their ancient standing stones and mounds thousands of years ago) essentially believed. Based on the evidence, I believe that at least the priestly class were focused on the journey to heaven (I'll be doing videos about this soon). They clearly believed in many different realms and worlds, with the material world being just one we could inhabit. I personally see a lot of truth in both views, and don't think they are mutually exclusive. Because the spirit is not able to fully express itself here, it is a kind of prison in the way it places limitations on our soul - but these limitations exist for a purpose, which is for our learning, not as a punishment (many who've had near-death experiences describe this). Although material form is denser and more limiting here than it is in higher realms, nature is still a beautiful expression of the divine and is alive with spirit. As Jesus says (in the Essene Gospel of Peace), nature is a holy scroll, and a divine book for those who can read it. ☀

Not that I know of. The rebuilding work so far has been the research. There's always more that could be done, but we feel like we've now got a clear outline of the history, so we've moved to focusing on the beliefs and practices. The new book will be the first about its ancient practice (and I can foresee there will be at least a few more). I feel like from this point a practical revival can gradually start. I'll also be doing videos about the practices with guides on how to do them, which will help.

Hello! I appreciate the historical insight in this video, especially the acknowledgment of how many ancient cultures marked the winter solstice with celebrations. I found your video intriguing, especially the way it highlights the widespread message. However, I want to clarify something. I think it’s important to draw a distinction between these natural observances and what Christmas represents in Orthodox Christianity (Which, by the way, I am Eastern Orthodox). They’re fundamentally different celebrations, even if the timing overlaps. Meanwhile, even if the early Church chose December 25th as the date for Christmas, this decision wasn’t rooted in syncretism with pagan solstice festivals but rather in theological reflection and scriptural interpretation instead of Saturnalia and Yule. Let me explain, it’s tied to the belief that March 25th, which is the Feast of the Annunciation that marks the moment Christ was conceived. There’s a deep theological foundation here: March 25th is also linked to the beginning of creation and the Passion of Christ, symbolizing new creation and redemption. Nine months later brings us to December 25th, the celebration of Christ’s birth as the Incarnate Word. This isn’t just a "belief" it’s a powerful reflection on how God entered history, fulfilling prophecies like Isaiah 7:14: "Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel." There is also a wonderful Greek Monk (Greek Saint) also known as Saint Paisios of Mount Athos who beautifully captures this in his words: "My Lord, Your love cannot be borne, for it is too much, and in my small heart, it cannot fit.'" That’s the essence of Christmas for us, not a seasonal festival, but the overwhelming reality of God’s love breaking into the world. It’s not about marking the natural cycles of the earth; it’s about God intervening in history to bring hope and salvation. As for the idea that Christmas is somehow borrowed from Yule or Saturnalia, it’s worth remembering that while cultural elements have influenced customs over the centuries, the core meaning of Christmas remains unique. It’s about the birth of Jesus Christ as the Messiah (Christos (Hristos) = Messiah; "anointed one"), it is not about celebrating the sun or seasonal changes. That is why Orthodox Christianity keeps this focus clear, that Christmas and solstice traditions aren’t the same thing even though they do have similarities and overlaps running from another. Furthermore, I also want to clarify that, Saint Paisios, his words about the future remind us that history is always unfolding under God’s providence. He also spoke of events in the Middle East (which is indeed happening right now), Turkey, and Greece are compelling, as they are beyond as part of a larger spiritual journey. It’s not unlike how the Incarnation itself was foretold and fulfilled, showing us that even in the chaos of today’s world, God’s love and plan remain steadfast. Which is why we have the wars in Russia and Ukraine right now, and the liberation of other lands including Albania, the rest of Macedonia, and Constantinople, and the conversion of a part of the Turks from Islam to Orthodox Christianity. I also want to conclude, that, yes, the solstice has been celebrated by many cultures, but Christmas is something entirely different. It’s a celebration of God stepping into our story, not just a seasonal or symbolic event. That’s what sets it apart.
@SakroSawel
@SakroSawel Сағат бұрын
Thank you for your thoughtful explanation. I do appreciate as you say, that although Christians celebrate Christmas at the winter solstice, that it has it's own meaning for Christians apart from the natural event, making it different to other winter solstice celebrations. Though it might be surprising to know how many ancient peoples saw the sun as the outpouring of God's love, as the "light and life of the world." For instance, in ancient Hindu texts of India, the sun was called "the Lord of Love." And in many ancient beliefs the sun (seen as the greatest physical expression of God) manifested itself on Earth through a divine son, who was also associated with the sun. I explain this in my video Why ancient pagans worshiped the sun kzbin.info/www/bejne/fITYqK15rp2LkK8. To me, it's no wonder that the earliest Christians (almost all of whom had been pagans) would see in Jesus a manifestation of what they in many ways were already familiar with - incorporating some of their "pagan" beliefs into the life of Jesus. I also think that there's more to Jesus' message than what's in the Gospels, as indicated by other early teachings attributed to him in Gnostic texts. I thought your explanation of Jesus as the outpouring of God's love was beautiful. I feel that ultimately all beauty and acts of love are. I personally hold Jesus as divine, but not exclusively. I suppose I am like some of those earliest followers of Jesus who could see in him what has been and what will be manifest at many times. Thank you for the dialogue. I really appreciate you sharing your perspective in such an open and reasoned way.

my wife has all her Psychosis at the winter solstice (southern hemisphere) in fact she is currently in a small manic at the moment as we in Australia approaching the longest day of the year (22 of december), my ancestry (norse)belive there is only 2 sesonse in the year not 4 the winter solstice a time of death and birth in order for something to live something must die its a cycle. IMO the winter solstice is when the porthole opens to allow passage of the spirit to travel to the afterlife after death hence why many religions this time of the year is very important EG the Christian Christmas the birth Jesus and then easter rise of Christ. also many pass over in winter.

The oldest reference goes back to Mithraism( Mithra =Sun god) was before Zoroastism in Persia. Father of Mathematic and astronomy and Medicine. And despite all the crucifictians are still practising it in Iran and still well celebrated and cherished. Groups of Zoroastians escaped to India and Russia and some other coutries known as Parsi after the Arab invasion and spread their knowledge. Truth can never be hidden for too long though Ancient Rome was influmeced by Persians and by the time of Constantin 80% of Romans were Mithraist that is why it was easy for them to undestand the concept of Jesus as the son of God As Mithra is....
