at 12.02, perhaps you are interchanging the root and home directory. "/#-is the root directory and ~# is the home/user directory. Apart from that the video and it's contents are so clear and comprehensive..much beneficial for the beginners. We need the next series following this particular video.

@TechnicalME..4 жыл бұрын

@manojj15444 жыл бұрын
Ur question is short. Where is ur home directory remote(other computer ) or local and same goes for root directory is it remote or local. When u say root directory is root's home directory or / directory. Simple copy command is cp sourcepath destination path.

@soumyajitdas65985 жыл бұрын
To be a root , you have to use that username , I guess. '~' means that you are in the same directory as your recent account which can be either a 'root' or 'xyz_account' . As soon as you leave your recent account directory , '~' changes to '/' and you are in the User's directory or Computer directory if you are in your 'root 'account else you'll end up into the ' home' directory where you can find other accounts , if you are were previously in the 'xyz_account' . Conclusion : '~' means : You are in the same directory as your Logged User account and he is not wrong .
