I was quick-scanning through episode footage to find the right clips for the video, and it made me want to watch it again too! I met the Voice Actor for Tamaki at ComicCon over the summer, which is what inspired me to record this...and I'm thinking about giving him a copy when I see him at YoumaCon in November.

I hope he likes this when you show it to him :) Ironically I just watched some OHSHC episodes today. They still make me smile :) Oh one more thing, what mic do you use? Also how do get your voice to sound so good? I mean it sounds studio quality. You Know how a lot of covers have that echoey, background noise? Or they just don't sound right? I guess I want to know how you touch the audio up? I use Audacity but haven't quite figured out how to use it well. Any tips would be appreciated.

+Kryssie Mango I don't know where you live, but I know he'll be at Youmacon in a few weeks. Anime cons are generally cheaper than ComicCon. ^^ (And you should know, he gives really nice hugs.) I hope he likes it too! The mic I own is a Blue Snowball. It's a USB mic that plugs into my laptop, and I think it's actually pretty decent. I don't do much to my vocal tracks either. Sometimes I add echo or reverb, but not much. A few tips for basic recording: There's one thing that I've found a lot of beginners do, but is also an easy thing to fix. When the vocals get louder and suddenly sound like they're grainy, like when people blast a song in a meme video and the music gets distorted? That's caused by the volume being too high for the music program. The sound waves distort and the audio pops on the track. Now I don't know much about Audacity (since I use Garage Band) but if you turn the microphone's recording input down, then you can sing louder without damaging the quality. You'd have to mess with the settings a little but practice will make that easier. Another thing that will get easier with practice is figuring out where/what direction you should sing in, in relation to the mic. I tend to aim slightly to the right of my mic to avoid my breathing being picked up too much since I don't have a buffer to stop that from happening yet. Distance from the mic depends on the song and how loud I'm singing. And the echo some people get? Background noise? That's from WHERE people record. I normally am in my bedroom, which is fairly average as far as soundproofing goes, but I have to put my clock in the closet and I have to record at night to keep my background noise to a minimum. (If you have a large closet, that might work better because they tend to get less bounce back, since the walls are covered in fabric from hanging clothes, since they're usually carpeted, and because the space is smaller.) Of course, I really good recording also depends on your own vocal talents. I didn't learn to sing as well as I do overnight, and I'm nowhere near perfect either! I've taken voice lessons, I've been in choir and musical theatre for years, and I sing almost every day out of habit alone. As silly as it sounds, just singing every day (singing PROPERLY every day) does help to improve your vocals AND your vocal range. I'm speaking from experience here, from somebody who hasn't had a voice lesson in four years! Anyway! I hope that helps a little! Good luck, and have fun! ~Pixie
