Normally I don't like Mecha-Animes but this one hit different.. Especially loved some of the Episodes in the Middle, where you get to know more about the Time in the Garden, where they were childs, especially Episode 13 (Zero Two and Hiro), that was one of my favorite Anime Episodes ever, the Story Telling there was just beautiful. 💕 I can't express how I feeled while watching it, but it surely took me on a Rollercoaster Ride of Emotions, the whole Anime, too. ❤

It will be very difficult to have season 2 as far as I am concerned: given that the main storyline of Sakurasou has adapted certain elements from the vol.7 and 8 of the original fiction, while it largely follows vol. 1-6. For example, in Ep17, the scene where Nanami confessed her love to Sorata was a adaption. In the original fiction, Nanami went to audition not by bike not by taxi after Sorata gave all his money to her at the train station (vol.5, chapter 4). The confession took place in vol.7 (chapter 3) instead, which is...very erotic and powerful if you can either read the novel in original (Japanese) or in translation (e.g. Chinese). There was a point where Sorata really thought he would choose Nanami. And of course, the conversation between Nanami and Sorata in Ep22 is adapted from the fiction's vol.8 (chapter 4), which is itself a very heartbreaking scene. After both Mashiro and Nanami confessed their love to Sorata, Sorata needed to make his decision and said to Nanami that he chose Mashiro instead. Nanami's reaction was absolutely stunning, cheering and encouraging Sorata all the way through with a big smile on her face...it makes we the readers wonder if Nanami should be the chosen one. Of course, the advise that the dorm teacher Chihiro Sengoku gave to Sorata before his "final decision" was also priceless in itself: she taught Sorata to accept the fact that he loves both Nanami and Mashiro on the one hand, but that he needed to make up his mind to say goodbye to one of them as honest as possible. Plus, she reminds Sorata that he is not the one who had most pains; it was Nanami. And funny enough, just before the final decision took place, Jan and Chihiro actually told Sorata that he wasn't mature enough to date either Mashiro and Nanami. It foretold where the story would go: Mashiro and Sorata broke up within less than a year. Nanami even had to put out a fight between Sorata and Mashiro while they were dating...but that's another story. All in all, given season 1 of Sakurasou has touched some of the themes up to vol.8, I guess this is it.

Yeah I also read the light novel (only the continuation) and I also thought the anime shipped Sorata and Mashiro way too much. I was really cheering for Nanami despite knowing the outcome from the start. I think Nanami would’ve been the better choice if this was real life, but it isn’t and so Mashiro won. Also I just realized I forgot half of the LN so thanks for making my memory fresh lol
