It was great but Nico Hoerner may have been more impressive. Stepping up from Double A because every other shortstop was hurt for the cubs. He went 3-3 4 RBIs, a triple and a few really good defensive stops all on the road with the fans chanting his name. Who doesn’t love a good debut

I went to the same HS as Sal and his older brother. Not at all surprised he made it to the MLB bc he was always an insane athlete, but he could not have had a better big league debut. Batting 3-for-3, making the game-winning sacrifice fly, and denying Ozuna a HR is just crazy. And I think this is just the beginning for him.

@chriskay1449 - He was 3-3 with a sacrifice fly, which doesn't count as an at-bat. And the reason for a 1.750 OPS instead of 2.000 is because the sacrifice fly still does count as a plate appearance in which he didn't reach base. It's the rare time your batting average is higher than your on-base percentage.
