Hands down, this is one of the greatest Sal moments. I don’t know that he understands, even now, what was so funny about it.

This is one of the greatest bits during this era: Howard, Robin, Fred, Artie, Richard, and of course Sal! If there was a top 100 moments in Stern history this should make the cut. This bit illustrates the brilliance of the show and the entire cast. It’s not the over-the-top antics the show is famous for. Instead Sal has yet another classic misunderstanding of the English language, leaving an opportunity for Howard to immediately pounce! The rest of the gang jumps right on board and away we go for 7 minutes of radio that is SO funny you’d swear it was scripted! Bravo!

Howard being able to keep a straight face is brilliant and to not laugh even a little, even Robin cant hold it together, lmao

Outside of Sal being an idiot, the reason why this bit is so good is Artie’s laughter and comments. The fact that the show continues to edit him out of bits is despicable, especially considering his current situation. Do the guy a favor and at least include him on the “best of” segments. This bit is unwatchable without Artie.
