I met GIGI in Rl Reno Oklahoma while doing time. We met on the med.. line where we both got our daily insulin shots, ( as we were both diabetics. We traveled together for 2 years together to Springfield Missouri and then Danbury, Connecticut as our final destination. GiGi was always friendly to inmates as well as the guards in prison. GiGi worked in the kitchen at Danbury and he made egg& cheese sandwiches to sell on the compound, and gave me sandwich sandwiches to bring to the lieutenants office on a regular basis. GiGi was also a protector as well. Some big gay guy apparently wanted me for lunch & when GiGi found out, he stepped to the guy and let him know that I was protected by the Italians. Needless to say, the gay guy was never seen by me ever again. GiGi had clout. He was part of the French Connection people and got tons of respect. Sal’s correct when he says that GiGi was a funny guy. He seemed to take life as it came, and I rarely saw him angry. He made doing time, so much easier. RIP Mr. Inglese, you will always be remembered.

How strange that a guy in one way who could be responsible for so much evil (knowing the harm caused by heroin) yet in other ways, have apparently positive qualities that people remember with fondness. The world is a strange and complicated place.

Another great episode, even if the boy-scout routine at the end about "Learn from their mistakes. Don't go down that path" rings hollow. It's unnecessary at this point, there is no 'mob life' to speak of these days, it's like warning kids not to stick up trains with Butch Cassidy. I mean the fq? 😄
@investinyourselfpodcast Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching 😁 I will say it is important to cover that point at the end of each of our videos. It doesn’t matter if it’s not the mob in particular there is still gangs and other organized crime going on.

Sal: _Gigi had no respect at all for attorneys he actually called them parasites. I remember him saying to me: you know what person beside an attorney can you think of that lives off other people's miseries?_ Wow Gigi I don't know, how about *drug dealers* ...mafia gangsters....
@exspiravit6920 Жыл бұрын
Let's not forget the original sentiment though: Lawyers are pretty much just Politicians in waiting, and if they aren't juiced in then they become parasites, so they're still no better.

Outstanding guys..I've how Sal pronounces "Fat szchee szche" I love characters like that...The Guy was a Mafia Philanthropist! That was so nice what he did for the Limo guy...Vinny Blue Eyes Aloi...he lived in my neighborhood..total gentleman..Did he happen to grow up in Greenpoint Brooklyn? The reason I ask is that mt Older Brother Big Bart (63) went to St Francis Prep HS and all their sports teams were City & State Championship Level. The Handball team was even better...Best in America 🇺🇸. They were almost all Pollacks and from u guessed it GREENPOINT .Matt NYC
