Salah series # 10 - What is Khushoo?

"The believers are indeed successful. They are those who pray with Khushoo." 23:1 and 2.
This ayah tells us that Khushoo is within Salah.
"Seek help with steadfastness and prayer - though this is hard for anyone except for those who have Khushoo". 2:45
This ayah tells us that Khushoo is required to seek help through Salah. So where is Khushoo found? Within Salah or outside Salah? Answer is: Khushoo is found both within and outside Salah. Khushoo is a state of mind, a state of mind that shows humility, a state of mind that has fear of Allah's punishment, a state of mind that has hope in Allah's mercy and a state of mind that is in awe of Allah.
Activity: Ask yourself: How is your state of mind? Do you have Khushoo outside Salah also? Are you trying for Khushoo outside Salah?
