@54:20 That actually IS true. The Adamantine mantle enhancement that literally reduces incoming melta/torrent to 1 damage for a character.

As a fan of 3 legions in particular, Night Lords, White Scars and Salamanders (shocking line up, I know right?) I was elated to see the most compassionate Astartes go up against the Death Guard. And the cherry on top was that Sultan was the one to command the boys in green. Loved the battle report.~

Having more obscuring terrain would prevent that massive turn 1 alpha strike. It was always going to be hard for the DG to come back from that.

Honestly I've seen going first tilt too many battles that I think its less a terrain issue and more that the rules really need a counter attack rule that if something dies before their team's first battle phase they still get to make an attack or alternatively just don't die until the end of their first battle phase (even if they still count as dead for scoring purposes).

Great battle report! The only thing I wished I'd seen was a Techmarine going apeshit on the Helbrute that murdered his Dreadnought. This absolutely makes the case for bringing the Techmarine. Never enough points, right? Very entertaining.

Seems kinda nuts you can afford a redemptor dred (with 3000 shots), a Kratos (with all the guns) and 31 marines (including a command squad and veterans) in an 1100 point game. Poor Winters, that kratos was OP in this game.

In hind sight, you could have climbed your Death Guard Terminators over the Sky Shield Landing Pad to hide them initially and then drop down to charge the Kratos and lock it up and it would not have been such a slaughter....

With smaller points games the you go I go should be changed to Units not Armies as Turn 1 is too decisive in most games. I actually think alternative activations should be the standard in 40K

That new battle tank is atrocious. It looks like something you'd see in 80's / 90's action cartoons. X-Men always had the worst designs for mechs/tanks/etc, it would fit right in with an Age of Apocalypse episode tearing through a wall into the rebels secret base.
