Dude the second guy is my motto. Yeah money is great and all but if I’m just working like crazy with no work life balance then there’s no point. I would just be living to work, and people wonder why mental health is such a big topic. Although I think I wouldn’t be okay with that salary.. there needs to be some sort of a balance. Personally, I think that the balance can be more advantageous if you’re ambitious enough to work on other income streams after work hours.

@@YT-jb3gt It's definitely not a 'few' years to get to the 'top'. It can take decades and is an unrealistic goal for many. Climbing the corporate ladder is not the same as what it used to be in the past. And the bamboo ceiling is very much a thing in any western corporation. But if one likes work and is dedicated to that then by all means go ahead.

5 years ago, when I graduated from Uni, I got a $14000 job in an international bank. It is a very low salary at the beginning. Normally fresh graduates just get ranges from $10000 to $18000, not include some high pay jobs. Now my salary is double, but still not high in Hong Kong. The key is that you need to jump to raise the salary.

My parents are both doctors and my mom is an obstetrician. She said that the medical student in China need 5 years of uni and 3 years of training. But the minimum requirement for a doctor in a good hospital is a master’s degree, so people have to study for another 3 years. Besides, people need time to get the license. If everything goes well, they could be a doctor at the age of 29 or 30. And if they want a decent salary, maybe they have to be an attending surgeon at least, which also requires about 10 years of work experience. So the reality of being a doctor in China is cruel, especially in Beijing and Shanghai, cuz everyone graduated from a top uni in China or the world. Until one day, you finally get a good salary and you find that you’re about to retire lol...

For all the people attacking some of these people I'm pretty sure there was some confusion on their part / Torres part. I'm a headhunter in HK and often times when we talk salary we talk in USD per annum terms. I'm not sure why exactly but often times thats the way we talk about salary. So when we say 200k we mean USD per annum package not 200k hkd a month. So that doctor girl may well have meant 70 k USD per annum for jr doctor starting salary which is like 45k HKD a month which is probably about right for 1st year junior.

I have a friend who is working in marketing department of a big retail company in HK. (She had 2 years experiences before she joined this company.) BUT, she just has 15K 😰HKD salary per month. She works very hard. Of course, the job is so tough too. Work until 10pm is an usual life. Her mother always ask her to quit the job. But my friend said, she'd like to have few years experiences in a big company then it'll has a good performance to jump to next company. Finally, she couldn't stand anymore and quited 2 years later. 😮‍💨

@@kitsky0123 that's so identical from here in beijing( seems every big city kid struggle in this) what I can say is if your friend do not suffer any physical or mental abuse from the hard work. well I'd say she is luck and maybe this could help her to get where she want. ☺BUT the fact here is. some of my friend either got mentally abused(so called workplace PUA) or they got health problem after the "few" year hard work. I just feel so sad of our society right now. 😮‍💨

I also study architecture, but in the U.S. I am actually working in this field for over 20 years. However, I always wanted to have my own KZbin Channel. I am going to start now. I have just join your course too. If you have a chance to come to Miami Florida, then I will take you around.
Wait for the last one! 👀
