That mushroom is a highly medicinal reishi mushroom. They grow on hemlock. The fruit in the spring time. You'll find fresh fruitings every year on the same stump.

Gorgeous property! I would definitely clear the spot for the view. That would be where a small, solar powered, off grid cabin would go. I'd also clear a large spot for a vegetable garden.

Yes, my Mother's family were/ are a few miles East of there near the Penobscot. Maine's lake country is just plain awesome! Now the winters January, etc the average temp can be three degrees :). Come March/April, the mud and bug seasons are "awesome" as well ... Mid summer the asphault tends to bubble up on the old county roads, bare feet is an adventure! Imho, the Fall is the best time of the year. Yes the people are decent, It can be a nice place to live if you are young. I'm too old now to still do all that. There was a time I remember in the "50s when you could buy an acre of lakefront for $5000 ... Sigh.

If it grows on wood, it's edible. Lingzhi mushroom - Lingzhi mushrooms are edible. They are also known as Reishi or Manetake in Japan. A little tough, though.

??? Wait a minute. A gorgeous property and you don't show us the Real Stream ? I thought you said maybe open business with kayaks/canoes or even float plane rides.. You Never mention Anything about a Fly Fisherman's Paradise in Maine.. Isn't that what Maine is known for ? Trout fishing?? Perhaps a dozen cabins along it for Fisherman???? Maybe in part 2, sorry I forgot there was going to be another video coming.. lol. TY , Great piece of property. I used to hunt in the Guilford area, by 1st & 2nd Davis Ponds. Deer are thick. As well as Bear, Moose , everything..

I have been accused of always making it about fly fishing and hunting😂. Just trying to change it up a little. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of the area. It is also one of my favorite parts of the state.

@deborahmower8539 Жыл бұрын
It depends on the exact spot you're in, and what time of year it is. The current can be very strong just upriver. @@philmcphail2228

Some sections have very steep banks along that river, and there are also some lovely flat open sections. That side of the river tends to be less steep.

You need to lake fish from before first light to dawn... then nothing happens until dusk to just after sunset.. ... The fish are really picky.

Looking for something around 80 acres or in the NE area of the state within driving distance of a Veterans Clinic. Currently live abroad and when I return I will be looking for a total off grid homestead with one way in and one way out with no public easements on four sides of the property. Higher the ground the better but not an issue. Water, spring or otherwise another plus but not an issue. Surveyed and marked. FSBO is my preference but commission of applicable will be honored. Since, I am overseas at present interested in an agency to provide management in some form to generate minimum income to pay the taxes and their fees. Any advice is appreciated. Time is not of the essence so you can shop around and keep an eye out for that one property no one wants but could the one that fits the bill. Good luck and keep in touch if possible and keep the video's coming as I am a real time buyer but have some restrictions based on my present location abroad and time restricted to liquidation of existing properties over here.
