The influence they had is so extremely underrated. Salem were the first band to create something COMPLETELY different from everything else. I remember hearing this sound in 2009. People say "it's like nothing you've ever heard before" so much but for these guys it was ACTUALLY like that. It sounded like NOTHING else. They inspired so many other musicians, especially in hip hop. Cloud rap was heavily influenced by Salems music. And then cloud rap caused so much other new genres. The root remains Salem. The amount of genres that have their original roots in Salem is absolutely crazy.

There are multiple ways of going about this in my opinion you could pull this off with an iPhone and vcr. Rack Focus or Pulling Focus Technique is critical for some of the shots. If you record the iPhone footage through a vcr, you can pull this off using a smart tv or Apple TV when pairing your iPhone with the tv that is connected to a vcr and just rip your iMovie. Now this is where it gets a little witch house in the media, you will now play your vcr/vhs master copy of all your cuts on the tv and now use the iPhone to redigitize your final copy and messing with the tracking on the vcr you will get the frame noise and moiré. You can also record it on a minidv camera and use the manual zoom and focus to recreate the video analog noir. Hook the camera up to a crt tv and film off the tv for final mix.
