My husband is a descendent of Roger Conant. Thank you for producing this video with his statue in the background so that I can see where it sits in the Salem Common. I also appreciated the information about the business venture.

My mom worked in Salem in the late 60s and early 70s. She passed by Roger many times. In 2000 I had my dad take a photo of me in front of the Witch Museum and he stood next to Roger to take it. It wasn't until 2017 that I learned I was descended through mom twice from Roger through his son Lot.

I don't know if I'm a decent of him, but I remember my dad and grandpa saying some stuff about him, but a few people in the comments say they are a descendant of him

Raise your camera about a foot maybe two, lower it's angle a few degrees, step back about another two feet from it. This may give you about a 50% profile hat to waist. Other than that, interesting information about the early investors' agents in the region.

The Puritans were one of the early splinter sects of the Protestant faith. This has happened a few times. I read somewhere, don't remember where that Christianity is formed of about 20,000 distinct branches. A lot of branches evolved because of various individuals seeking to legitimize their control of their local churches by citing Biblical passages they claimed showed themselves to be the annointed ones. Not so unlike the more modern splits in the Muslim faith that also engendered distrust of brothers and seeded wars and other violence.

The Puritan congregation here in town eventually broke into six different groups -- one or two groups breaking off at a time, until there were no Puritans left!
