Salinas Grandes, Puna de Jujuy, Argentina - HD 2K

Salinas Grandes is a 120 sq km salt basin located in the Puna de Atacama, between Salta and Jujuy provinces. A lake that dried up 10,000 years ago, this is now a pan of table salt, half a meter thick. Sodium and Potassium salts have been always extracted here.
The rising interest for Lithium, the "white gold" used to make modern batteries, could threaten the whole area.
