Accumulation of salt in on soil surface which restrict the growth of plants in the filed known as saline soil .Saline soil have electrical conductivity is more than 4 d/m an ph is less than 8.5 . There are three types of Saline soil or salt affected soil 1) Saline soil 2) saline sodic soil and Sodic soil
Most saline soils have a significant amount of gypsum (CaSO4, 2H2O) in their structure. Existence of carbonate in saline or salt affected soil is always absent .
In Pakistan plenty of soil is affected with salt , in this video we talked about the treatment of saline affected soil , how can we grow crops in saline affected soil under normal condition .
The application of gypsum to sodic soils allows them to be reclaimed. Gypsum is a low-cost calcium and sulphur source. Calcium replaces the sodic in the soil, allowing it to be used for agriculture or crop cultivation. Farmers can reclaim their agricultural land and cultivate crops successfully in this manner.

Mgcl is to be used 75 kg and urea must be used 150 kg in saline soils to make soil free of salts but u need to use for first 3 to 4 years and u will get good crops
