Finally! One of them said “Thank you!” to Sarah! She helped them- she really did. And to their credit, they realized it.

Can’t get over how people consider they can’t afford roofers or plasterers! These are the deal breakers for selling successfully. Feel sorry for whoever buys the sisters house. Trying to live with those small bedrooms an unobvious nightmare! Only when you live in them would you go crazy.

The mistake so many people make on this show is that they're aiming for "if we do this, someone will want to buy the house", when Sarah's advice is based on "if you do that, more people will want to buy the house." the more interested bidders you can get on a house, the higher the price can go.

My husband and i renovated 2 houses ( we live in both, one in Finland one in the south of France) and i also renovated my mother’s apartment. We did everything ourselves - parquet, tiles, terraces. Only windows had professionally installed. I thought i could do plastering myself after watching on youtube and tv how to do it, as it occurred watching it does not make u be able to do it. So plastering was left to professionals. I was watching them do it - looks simple. I know it is not because i tried it. And when we were working with my husband we BOTH were doing, not like he is doing and she is standing. We used a team work

I had a bathroom that was reduced in size decades ago to make room for the furnace on the ground floor instead of the crawl space. The tub was great, I could actually float in it, but the sink was at a right angle to the toilet, so if you wanted to watch yourself brush your teeth in the mirror, you'd have to stand atop the toilet and bend way over or stand in the tub because there was no way to stand in the sink. I wanted a corner sink, if i could find one in my budget, which I couldn't. A friend owed me a bathroom remodel, but before it ever happened, I had a small house fire and they gutted the entire house down to the studs to get rid of the smoke smell, even though the actual fire was confined to the kitchen. So we moved walls around a bit, relocated the furnace where previously there had been a linen cupboard and now I have what is a dream bathroom, given my budget and space. Watching these reminds me of the whole fiasco of the renovations, complete with 6 month hiatus because the city decided halfway through the budget that they wanted to tear down the house and it wasn't possible to build from ground up on half the budget - and that wouldn't take into account demolition. It took 2.5 years before the house was done.

i find the comment "as a woman I've had to work physically hard" somewhat offensive. I mean she's not living in the 19th century - there are women all over the world who work physically hard everyday. Beeny herself has done some hard physical work even when she was pregnant. Wonder what she really thought of that remark.

Spending all that money to add useless 3rd bedrooms so tiny there are no closets and you can't fit even a dresser in them instead of having bigger bathrooms seems crazy to me.

Many 1930s semis, like mine, are wider than theirs begins as, with a bay window at the front (upstairs and down) and a smaller window beside the upstairs bay (to a box room) underneath this smaller window is the front door into a hallway. I don't know why they don't extend the house all the way to the front, which could accommodate a study, utility, garage, and workshop towards the back of the garage.

Cramming the extra bedrooms in, so tiny they are unusable, was nuts. Of course, they wouldn't listen to Sarah. Two double bedrooms are fine for a house that size.

Which is more breathtaking: Paula's hubris or her frightening taste in wallpaper? I'll admit that I shed no tears for her when Beanie told us what eventually happened. SPOILER ALERT: Blondie implied that they went wildly budget principally because of repairs they couldn't have been expected to anticipate. Nonsense - People who don't pay for AND READ structural reports aren't informed enough to anticipate anything. "I still do believe we've opened up the market by making it a three bed" - Paula on Beanie's final visit, which was followed by no sale at all for six months, and then of one house only at a whopping $40,000 less than the defiantly overpriced figure initially asked.
