When I was a wee boy this music was playing on my tape recorder endlessly while I was reading the Lord of the ring triology... It still is perfect!

Excellent Song, Excellent Music. Mike Oldfield provides the background music on this awesome track for his sister Sally. It is similar to his music on his own album "Incantations". This has my vote for her all-time best music track. From her wonderful 1983 album "Strange Day In Berlin" on Polydor Records UK.

that's not true. Hans Zimmer and Sally Oldfield wrote song and lyrics

Some writers have a style all their own -- Joni Mitchell, Laura Nyro, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen & sometimes even Bob Dylan when he writes originals. Sally Oldfield may not be as famous but she has style, originality & a signature way of writing her lyrics & placing the melodies perfectly. Her multi-octave range and vocal tonality are set apart from many vocalists. She should have been a major singer. This song alone is incredible. She does continue to record to this day so she isn't retired somewhere. It's what you'd find comfortably between Sandy Denny and Kate Bush. She's in that special category as Paul Winter Consorts' Susan Osborne (the singer) not Ozzy's wife. Check out Susan's "Lay Down Your Burden" -- from Paul Winter's Common Ground LP -- astonishing. Just like Sally.

Great song, however I would like to see Sally Mike and Terry Oldfield do a full length album together. I know they are up in age but I know they could make great music together

Can anyone explain why this isn't more popular and why it's hard as hell to find her music? I love Hans Zimmer and knew straight away the track was his work
