There was never a need for generalization. Long before people started hindu muslim there was Md Rafi sahab singing Hindi bhajans that used to be played in temples. Sonu Nigam sang Mohammad k dar pe.... and everyone talked about songs not the religion of singers. It is during recent years that things have changed in this country....
