I am not a fly-fisher but this short film stirs some deep primeval instinct in me to go fishing in Torne river. The production of Baltic salmon in this particular and spectacular river is through the roof, that is well known for all that follow these sorts of statistics. Perhaps as much as 70-80% of all salmon in the Baltic sea come from this river alone. Rivers of this size are usually dammed for hydro power but since it is a river that defines the border between Finland and Sweden both countries have decided to keep it pristine for the benefit of both countries and by extension, all of us. Thank you for posting this! Cheers 🍺

What tackle do you recommend for this place?
@Swedishlapland2 жыл бұрын
Hi! In the big rivers up north most people prefer a 15 foot rod, some a little longer, some shorter. As the water level drops further into summer a lot of fishers will go for lighter tackle. Here's a article with some more know-how, hope you find it interesting 😀 www.swedishlapland.com/stories/how-to-catch-a-baltic-salmon/

@@Swedishlapland Man this was a nice read! Regarding the shorter 13 foot rods. What line class do you use? And Scandi line all the way or sometimes Skagit?
@Swedishlapland2 жыл бұрын
#8-9. I would say most people still use scandi style, some have adapted to skagit or sometimes some kind of fusion. Fishing wise it probably don't matter, as long as you get the fly to the fish 😀
