Salmon River 2023 Pulaski, NY - Hooked on Salmon

We head back up to Pulaski NY, and chase the salmon on the Salmon River! We hooked into a lot of fish, and even met up with local Angler Larry!

Me, and a friend of mine spent a day at the Dougleson Salmon Run a couple days ago. I will tell you right now… THE RUN HAS BEGUN! Guys were hooking onto them like crazy!

You guys actually know what you’re doing that is clear but if you want to get a lot more subscribers and followers you need to talk a little bit about what you’re doing and how you’re doing it you’re having success but just showing videos and yelling woo hoo won’t do it.

Been there 3 times this year now. My trip yesterday almost ended in a fight. I don't need the trouble. Not sure if I'll be going back. Some douche started running his mouth. If I took his spot all he had to do was say hey I just went to re-tie and I gladly would have moved. Douche was blaming me for him getting snagged. Obviously he was snagged before I got there, and kept getting snagged after I moved. The stupidity out there is unreal. Then the fools not communicating when they hook up..... grrrrrrrrrrrr!

@joelloyd6069 I have serious anger issues I try to keep in check. If I'd of had to come up out of the water...... it would of been on. Found a place I can fish them from a boat. Shoulder to Shoulder isn't for me. Harder to hit someone from a boat lol.

@gofyourself74 I was at altmar and saw a guy get cross lined from a guy across the stream when I was steel head fishing. it happened about 3 times in about a half hr or so. he said you cross me one more time I'm coming over there and he crossed him and up they went across the bridge and were fighting on the other side of the river. Then their friend joined in until the wardens and cops came. it was so idiotic but funny at the same time. 😛

@joelloyd6069 🤣 yup only thing I was thinking when this idiot started running his mouth, was yup,here we go... I'm finally gonna be famous on social media. I really didn't want to fight anyone, but when I heard something about that f'er over there stealing his hole my blood started boiling. Wasn't no one there when I got there. If he was re-tying it was somewhere out of sight. Had he asked nicely I still would have moved. Instead I stayed till I got snagged in his snag proof hole.

Me and my buddys will be heading to Pulaski on October 4 th for 5 days. Been going there for the last 28 years and it never gets old. In the beginning we would always do guided drift boat trips but now we go on our own since we kinda figured out how the fish for them. Great video … cant wait to get up there.

@artmancuso7704 lol that makes more sense. I'm far from a pro, actually a noob. I changed weight depending on how fast the water was moving where I was fishing. To heavy it wouldn't move with current, to light it wouldn't sink. Trial and error.

In the past 3 weeks I've lost about $300 in mostly plugs, also hooks and sinkers. I wouldn't say any particular size. In the end I'd strip any line I hooked on to that had tackle on it. Plan on losing a lot.

These guys won't help with any info. I fish with guys that have been doing this for years. So far landed one king and it's cost me about $600 between travel food and tackle. I'd get a guide, it will probably be cheaper in the long run. Or buddies that know what they're doing, which didn't help me much.
