Alex Salmond, leader of the pro-independence Scottish National Party, and Alistair Darling, leader of the pro-U.K. Better Together campaign, clashed over Scottish independence in a televised debate.

Extremely poor reporting by the pro England WSJ. You made Salmond look as if he had no answer for Trident, which is absolutely not true. As for Darling's statement that Scotland does not need independence to be recognised internationally, if that were true, why do Americans very often refer to the country as 'England' and not by its true current name of United Kingdom. Scotland needs to be independent as does my native Wales. Then we can revert to correctly referring to the Atlantic as an ocean and not the ludicrous 'pond' that Westminster and Washington like to pretend it is. Incidentally, a poll following the debate showed that 70% considered Salmond to have 'won'.
