Hiya duck welcome to another watch me work Video! Today I’m going to teach you how I create a marble and polka dot nail keep watching!
So first things first I gotta tell you all about this technique, if you ever forget ya nail glue or the lid gets stuck on it what you can do is dip your nail tip into the acetone, the acetone will melt it and you can get it to stick!
So I'll get all my tips on and I'll cut them to length then I can go on with the acrylic and I’m doing a full set of almond acrylics in a two-bead application pinching as I go.
Then I can file these into shape just using a hand file, it’s a comfortable shape for me to do quite easily just using a hand file so I tend to go for my electric file when I’m working on more complicated shapes.
Then I will go in with a super thin layer of the base coat across the entire set and I'll give that a cure, and then I'll take out a pallet and lay down some colours, I chose these with the client but you can do this with any colours you like!
When I have all of my colours laid down on my pallet I'll scoop them up and then I can just lay that marble down across the nail on some of them I'll do swooshes from top to bottom and then on a few'll add some smile lines with the marble too and cure that.
Now I'll decant some of the void gel polish and some of the white out onto my pallet is going to be painted in some high contrast design work so I'll start out with the white out and create some white shapes across these nails and then I can go in with the void and paint in some funky two-tone designs.
Then I'll give the whole design a layer of top-coat cure that and then buff over to remove any texture and then I'll re-top-coat to seal in the design and then I'll add some bling to the set and that’s it! I hope you enjoyed the video and I’ll see you in the next one! T’Rah Duck!
Lots a Love KM xoxox

OMG. I have allergies. I love long ass nails, and the allergies include nail glue, I can't get any self or light curing chemicals on my skin at all. Yeah, I have issues. This tip with the acetone and the gel tips just changed my whole life. Thank you Kirsty!!! 💞💕💞

I have long natural nails that are powder dipped...if i go now, I'll have growth/seperation and won't be able to get in. My nails look like i have acrylics that need a fill ugggg. They grow too fast🤪

Kirsty & other nail techs, would you suggest a newbie to learn with acrygel or start with acrylic from the start? Im just getting my toe into nail work whilst waiting for the next local course to start and was wanting to have at least some skills lol

In all honesty, they are completely different in terms of technique. Acrygel is more of a medium pressure pat/mold and smoothing out with strokes using slight pressure from the brush. Acrylic is GENTLY patting to bead toward the cuticle then patting toward each sidewall then swiping down with the brush. (Some people pat and pull with acrylic and others more of a press into place at the top then swipe down). But once you work with each you will see how different the technique is. You obviously should learn all of them but if you want to start with something i say go right to acrylic since thats the most used in everyday life with clients☺ i almost work exclusively with acrylic. the times I don't use acrylic, i use gel. And that's only because that's what the clients are asking for.. No one ever asks me for acrygel even though i do like using it. That being said if you find you prefer a certain method over the others you can choose to work exclusively with that medium and let your clients know that's what you will be using.. Good luck!!

@@ashleystonge86 Thank you so so much, what you said makes complete sense. Thank you for taking the time to talk me through the technique differences, its something I didnt even consider! Thank you for sending me good luck, I think I will need it lol ❤️🥰

For at home nails, gel all the way, builder in a bottle is my fav. You can take your time or work fast, it self-levels so you can flip your hand over and create an apex, no monomer stink, and it soaks completely off If you're starting classes though, I would wait to learn much of anything till then. We had a lot of girls in my classes that taught themselves via KZbin and ended up struggling with switching gears from kitchen nail procedures to professional

@@anonymouse9833 Thank you so much! Another thing I didnt think about was how different practical classes will be as compared to online classes. This is why I asked to have more knowledge. Thank you 🥰

What about over exposure to acetone?
@V.I.C.
@V.I.C. 7 ай бұрын
It's just touching the tip of the nature nail so there wont be any kind of exposure to skin or anything! Your more likely to get sick from breathing it in then it accidently touching the skin! Lol So its fine to use acetone to put a tip on! I mean you use waaay more acetone to clean the nails off and to take acrylic off the nails which then acetone gets all over the finger anyways and that never hurts anyone! So im pretty sure you or your clients will survive using acetone to put a tip on! Hope that helps hun! Have a great day!! 😊😊
