i dance Salsa - that is an excellent breakdown with the congas - i get the pause (with the double tap on the 1st conga - easy to see on the 4 since you stay on the 1st conga, little harder to see on the 8 since you come back from the 2nd conga to the 1st conga to do it)

What’s the story with the traditional style rims? I love them! Did you custom order the drums like that from LP?
@AlejandroSol Жыл бұрын
I just like the vintage look and decided to change the rims to traditional rims
@chrispantazi81 Жыл бұрын
@@AlejandroSol Nice man! I also love the traditional look and learned the basics/played my first few gigs with traditional rim drums. Beyond aesthetics I like having less metal on the shell. Also, looking to do the same thing with my Toca custom deluxe. Anyway, just discovered your channel today. Look forward to checking out your content. Take care…

That is great...on explaining the count. I am glad then, when you finished you continued long enough to begin hearing & feeling that rhythm on the drum, because that is what's necessary to a beginner

A great insight from a musician on the beat counting, but it is too fast for me to dance to.I am just a beginner.

is this the same for every salsa song? I doubt it. I can never even hear the percussion over the piano and everything else. Very hard in real life.

Hello, from a musician and drum player perspective, would you say it is more logical to dance to the 1st beat or to the 2nd beat (slap)??? Experts say dancing on2 is dancing to the rhythm... I dont get understand this idea. Does the body movement feel more logical when dance on2 vs on1???? Can somebody explain please thanks!!!
@Fred6785 жыл бұрын
Hi Sunny, this is all bullshit about dancing on2 is dancing to the rhythm. I've been dancing Salsa for nearly 20 years and in my opinion the best way to dance is to dance on the montuno. If the montuno is on 1st beat (95% of the time), i'm dancing on1. If the montuno is on 2nd beat (5% of the time), then i'm dancing on2 but without changing my way of dancing (not dancing the NY style or the Eddie Torres style) ; kind of palladium but with the 2 in the front.

@@Fred678 me podría ayudar explicandome ¿qué es bailar con el montuno?
@Piotr_Szyba4 жыл бұрын
Agree. Every dancing is to the rhythm, so it's bullshit to say you are dancing to the rhythm or off the rhythm. You can dance on 1, on 2, on 3, on 4 or on any "ands" inbetween as long as you are able to do it and this syncopation satisfies your taste of music and your partner's as well. Anyway the band emphasizes some accents more and some less and you can follow their choice, as it's not taken from the moon, they follow the rules of the misic type they are currently playing. So it's up to you to go withthe music accents or "against them".
