There are no rules in art. Rules don't apply. I watched a video the other day of a person mixing all these colours together. The end colour should have been a sort of brown, following the "rules of colour" but it wasn't. It ended up being this really pretty shade of purple. Don't let "rules" hold you back. Besides, rules are made to be broken, right? ;)

Another video that I am way behind on seeing! LOL I am trying to play catch up! Another question / suggestion...... Have you tried recycling your used salts on a different color watercolor page? If so, what were the results? I may try that because I have the larger salt granules too. Wondering if there was color bleeding between different painted colors and salt interaction. I tried the salt with alcohol inks and I was a weeeee bit disappointed. Thank you very much for sharing.

Dear Marta, This was another fun thing to try. And once again you have presented this in the delightful manner you always do.I am an abstract artist and lost my way, so too speak, by being to harsh on myself You have given me a new perspective to just try something new and have fun whilst doing it...I shall indeed give this a go...Cheers from Queensland Australia...

Deborah Gallo - similar sentiment! I love her excitement, sense of wonder and experimental spirit. I am going to try new things asap! So... have you tried any new techniques yet? Did an acrylic painting pour and resin painting pour experiment in the last few days. I'm going to take some of her tips and try again!
@deborahgallo67307 жыл бұрын
Mr dearest Anna, hello from Saturday night in Australia. I have actually started something very different over the last couple of days. Due to the fact I am unable to find any of the materials that so many mention within the fluid art community, I had to use something different as a medium. I took a look at all the art supplies I have and notice some floor varnish I purchased when I was living in Malaysia. I opened the tin and found that it was a smoky white colour and very Liquid. So I did an experiment with it on a small canvas around 1 foot by 1 foot...I used gold, Prussian Blue, Purple and turquoise in a dirty pour...well! it of course took all night to dry but when it had, my son said it looked like "Satellite Radar Topography" of the ocean. Of course I was thrilled that he saw something scientific in my experiment....so I did a larger one, and it turn out grand...using different colours though...One section looks like under sea volcanoes, because I mix my own orange..the beauty of it is, no need to seal it, because it was flooring varnish to begin with...Now, I will have to take a huge plunge and do a huge one and hope I do not make a terrible mess...LOL..tonight I am watching an old movie on KZbin, when I watch a movie I draw, using charcoal...I have so many drawings that I have started and never finished..then I find them months later and finish them..LOL..It would seem I am easily distracted...I did however design another dress the other day (I was studying fashion design). I design only because I like doing it, not to sell..So! what are you up too this coming weekend in the painting area,,,please tell me what you do, that would be fun to hear...You are a dear for commenting and thank you so much...shame we cannot see what each of us has done..Oh well! we will have to rely on the written word.....big hugs from Koala Land..

I have this as well, I am totally intimidated, but now I will be breaking it out and having some FUN... thank you Marta. I love listening to your tutorials. So far though, sadly I've only bought more supplies (which I already have an abundance of) and have only made a couple backgrounds. I've GOT to get courageous and move forward... but I did get a lovely journal for $1.80 at Michaels, in the clearance bin with kraft papers. I will put a picture on your Facebook page!
